I know a lot of us use serums for flat ironing, but I was wondering what are some of the favorites for rollersets. TIA

I like Giovanni Frizz Be Gone, very light, keeps the frizzies under control and makes my hair realy soft :)

I use Fantasia IC. I just put a little in my spray bottle along with a drop of oil and leave-in cond. This helps me with easier combing and shine.

These all sound excellent but of course I don't have any of these in my stash! I do have Aveda, NTM, & CHI Fusion, are these as good for rollersets as they are for flat ironing? Im trying not to buy anything else until I use some of this stuff up. Kinda of an unofficial challenge for myself :perplexed

go for it with Chi fusion!! I have the chi silk infusion and I only used it for pre relaxer application.. but on my next rollerset I am going to use it before putting in the rollers and getting under the dryer. I think the chi silk fusion will be of great use with heat(as that of a dome dryer)... leaving a silky shine!

Thanks for responding! I am going to relax this weekend and I will use this for my pre relaxer treatment thanks to Navesgda (sp?) I will experiment with this for my rollerset as well. I was really leary of using this for rollersets because of all the reviews I read on this, nobody mentioned rollersetting with it. I guess it wouldn't hurt. I'll let you know how it works for me.

NTM Healthy Shine Serum

Luckily I do have this in my stash!!! I will definitley try this on as well. When using this do you find it keeps your hair light & bouncey or does it weigh it down? Do you use this with a setting foam or lotion?

So far 2 of my products have been mentioned, at this rate I won't have to buy serum for a year.

I read the bottle and I think it is a good product to use with heat(for rollersets, flat irons or curling irons) I think navsegda uses hers before flat ironing... I think!?! It is a silk protein and this particular product is activated with heat.

It keeps my hair light and full of bounce. I don't use setting foam or setting lotions.

Thanks for your responses! I'm excited to find a use for some my stuff. Has anybody had good results with the Aveda brilliant rice serum (in the blue bottle)

I have. It is intensely expensive, but it is the only serum that does me justice. NTM just disolves in my hair and others either dry me out or leave me greasy.

I tried to find a cheap replacement and I can't. This stuff is staying with me forever.

Chi Infusion is good (i love it), but it's kinda expensive to use for rollersetting.

I use a dab of serum on each section before I roll it (thanx Poohbear for the suggestion in an OLD thread) so I tend to want to use something cheaper if I'm only rollersetting and not flat ironing.

With all of that being said Silk Elements Glossing polish is FABULOUS for rollersets... even though I know you said you don't want to but anything else it's $6.99 for a pretty large bottle so it goes far.

I agree it is expensive! I have some already & in the past i've only used it after I rollerset my hair, never on wet hair so im glad I have found other ways to use it. I hate when I have good products but I feel im not getting my moneys worth. I like products that have dual functions :ohwell:
I have always had good results using this on dry hair so hopefully it will be even better on wet hair!!!
Im one happy Chic, based on all of the reviews all 3 serums I have sound promising! No more serum shopping for me.... for a while anyway :look:
