I am currently looking to buy a good salon style hood dryer and just wanted to ask the advice of the ladies on this board (particuarly in London). We can't get Pibbs & Pebco here and I currently don't have that sort of money however I have come accross the following and just wanted to know is anyone owned any of these listed and how they found it?

http://www.arrowhair.com/product_details_79.htm (I quite like this one as the base is foldable so I can put it away after use)

http://www.arrowhair.com/product_details_507.htm (this one looks quite cute and well priced)

http://www.sesales.co.uk/product_detail.php?pID=347 (this one is easily available everywhere and I have noticed some other London ladies have one so would be great to know what you think of it?)

Thanks in advance ladies and look forward to your feedback !

I bought a bonnet dryer at Argos Extra in Wood Green a few years ago and I remember that I was pretty good. I paid about 60 for it. I think this is the same one actually http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Produ...Hair+care|14418399/Trail/searchtext>DRYER.htm

That said, I like the Miranda because you can wheel it away but it doesn't say how much wattage it uses. The one I posted is 1200 watt and the Aphrodite is 1000 watt. HTH.

Thanks Yardgirl !!!

I actually bought a used one of these of eBay and not sure about it as I feel it doesn't give good heat distribution so have given it away.

I have also tried the Aprodite a few times at a local hairdressers where I sometimes go just to have them rollerset my hair when I am feeling especially lazy and can't be bothered with all that arm ache... (I would never allow them to do any thing esle to my hair as they are SCARY with a capita S. Once I went in there to set my hair as usual and a lady had relaxer on her hair. When I left the shop after having set, dried and "self styled" my hair she was JUST getting the relaxer rinsed out. There was not deep conditioning or anything. Just blowdried with the comb attatchment and a pony tail was put on with Gel (starighafter a relaxer ??? :lachen::scratchch:naughty:. Not even any leave in or heat protectant???:nono::burning:

Anyway I digress. I am still not sure which one to get. I kinda like the Elan because of the foldable base which would mean I could foldaway the stand in a cupboard and put the hood away with the rest of my "hair stuff" in a wardrobe. Space is a premium in my house hence why I am erring on the Elan...

I have looked up more info on these dryers and it appears that the Elite has adjustable heat settings and a 60 minute timer. It also has two speeds ??? (what ever that means ??? I presume that must be how strong the blowing action is???) Would appreciate clarification from anyone in the know.

The Elan on the other hand also has adjustable heat settings, 60 minute timer but just one speed...

I quite like the hood dryer at my regular hairdresser where I go for steams. She is a traditional Jamaican hairdresser who does rollersets and steams and she has these FANTASTIC hair dryers (its like therapy I tell you - I just fall asleep). They are heat adjustable (so I use warm) and dry your hair bouncy and soft. They defo don;t make them like that anymore....

Anyway any more ideas greatly appreciated .

BUMPING !!!
