Hey Everyone,

I gotta ask a question I don't know if this is stupid or anything but In a week period do you have to mosturize your hair. I am asking because my brother and dad don't put anything on their heads except shampoo and their hair grows like crazy. I on the other hand apply all I can get and my hair grows slow.

I have heard others on this board saying that their hair grew like crazy when all they did was just shampoo every week.

I just wanted to know who mosturizes their hair? Is it natural or relaxed? And what is your hair type? And your answer to this topic.

lemme ask you this... what do your brother and dad do to their hair after they shampoo? i think the answer to that question is just as important. i'll bet you they do very little.

some people are able to get away with doing and putting nothing on their hair and see growth. some are not. i believe i fall into the "are not" category. i don't know any on this board who just shampoo their hair and nothing else. so i'd guess that i'm not alone in the "are not" category.

the real trick is figuring out what does work on your hair for you to see growth. that's why we're all here.

I also wonder how short your father and brother's hair is.
Its alot easier to see growth on shorter hair than longer hair.

Well they just shampoo their hair I think almost everyday or three times a week, adrienne. Um that is basically it. If their hair is like that I figure my hair must be like that on a count that I am related and have the same hair genes.

My brother and my dad's hair is like bald, Thursday girl. They shave it and shave it. Just to. Within a WEEK my mom shaves his hair and then it starts growin like weeds.

I was like dang.

<smiles> Your hair is probably growing like that too Nessa... but you can't see it because you already have some length. Its alot easier to see hair growing on a bald head... than more hair growing on one with hair already...

Genetics could also play a role. You have different genes. Some of them will be the same as your father and your brother's but not all ... Maybe your genes that control hair growth are different...

You could be right. i MEAN HOW BOUT my mom's side. That would alter my genes. Well you are right.

I don't put anything on my scalp...I think that's the key. I always put something on my hair. I haven't oiled my scalp in over 2 years.

So what do you mean you just shampoo and condition and don't put anything on your scalp. I saw on the post the key to long hair is washing you said YES".

When I kept my hair up by going to the beauty shop every two weeks I never hardly oiled my hair and thats when it grew the fastest.
