Lol TRUST it was hard for me too. I thought about commenting on his thinning hair line and even making some recommendations but caught myself:look:

No need to hold back. Military men treat military women poorly anyway (unless she is high ranking) so you need to put them in their place immediately or they will try it again.

Hang in there. It's on you to expose them to us.

You shoulda busted him on the hairline!

Sent from my iPhone while out living my best life!

I woulda let both of them know you are the only one that has to be pleased with your hair. If you love how it turned out nothing else matters. Dont be discouraged!!!

:welcome: It must be hard to be "different" in that atmosphere, but my advice is to be confident in the traits that make you unique and try to demand respect without being disrespectful...it is possible to be direct and command respect from others while still being diplomatic & I am sure you will figure out the way to do just that! We are here for support :yep: I am sending positive vibes your way :yep:

Lol I should have known better! Here go the pics, they don't show much but I'm a bit skeptical about putting pictures online.
@LilMissSunshine thank you so much for the vibes, they definitely worked out- EVERYONE (besides the two jerks) loved my hair:yep:. I got loads of requests to do people's hair

What service academy do you attend? I went to USMA. Don't let their comments get to you, just do you. As long as your hair is within regs their comments are just opinions. P.S. Carry the reg with you. AR 670-1. The reg really doesn't apply to Thursday dinner (if you go to USMA) so have fun with your hair!

@bluedaydreamer Oh that's cool! Heyyyy :). When did you graduate? I got a few questions about whether or not it was in regs today, but in an interested way not an I'm about to call you out one. Looks I may be hitting you up for some styling ideas:blush::look:

Kookookiwi, I graduated in 2005. I don't know what the Air Force Regulation is, but it tends to be more lenient than the Army. As long as you can wear all head gear (to include your pro mask) you should be good. An Afro is the best because although it looks big, it smooshes to fit under caps. Pretty much any protective style is cool for the military - check out the buns thread. HTH
