Has anybody had any growth with eye lashes using vitamin supplements? I had started using olive oil on them, and i think that it has helped them to stop falling out.

Ms. Jadu,

Hello! Be very careful using olive oil or any oil for that matter on your eye lashes. It's very easy to cause irritation to the eye. If you are having an excessive amount of eye lashes shedding, may be the first sign that you need a bit more protein.

Can't say I've noticed my eye lashes growing any longer due to supplements of any kind. However, my eyebrows are extremely shiny and lush...that was due to flaxseed oil, however.

Cheers and Welcome,

Jade

Hey Jade21!

Thanks for the warning. Yes, there has been excess shedding. I was actually gonna order some thing to put on it, but someone recommended olive oil. I guess i should consider the flaxseed. /images/graemlins/grin.gif

I know that on one of the old boards, someone posted something about castor oil helping with eyelash growth. I have not tried it yet.

Castor oil works wonders for this. Definitely increase your protein intake, but a little castor oil will have them longer and thicker in short time. Use a cotton swab or cotton ball (Swab is best) to apply a little castor to just your lashes,

Jade is correct about taking care with oils near your eye. That is why a cotton swab is really good. It allows you to put a small amount of oil on it an control where it goes and how much goes on the eye lash.

I've also heard about the castor oil. I also agree about being careful. I used too much oil around my eyelids and got a clogged tear duct that became infected and the doctor had to pop it...talk about painful! If I would have use hot compresses as soon as it started I could have avoided the doctor and swollen eyelid. Just be careful.

i did the castor oil to the eyelashes and it worked. it appiled it at night. i stopped because the lashes started getting in my eye. God bless you all.

One of my supplements is making my eyelashes grow and they are really annoying after they start getting long. With me, mine curl in and out so they cause constant irritation.

i didnt even know eye lashes shed broke or fell out just like hair!!

i read in a mag that applying vaseline to the lashes before applying mascara gives them the illusion of being thicker and longer and also keeps them soft, moisturized and break-free!

There is a bourjois mascara that I use that gives that effect, don't know if you can get it in Germany.

Hi LD,

I love the Boujoir mascara. It really lengthens and thickens. I see great diva's think alike /images/graemlins/wink.gif

Yeah it is good isn't it? /images/graemlins/smile.gif

When I'm in a rush in the morning it's a flippin hassle cause you have to do both steps before you can leave the house. the amount of times I've nearly missed the train because of that mascara.

Did you know that Bourjois make up is made by the same people that make Chanel make up?

I take several and just noticed the eyelashes growing with the hair.

Ms Jada,

I almost started a thread on this very subj..! Good thread. Since I started wearing my hair in a ponytail, away from my face, I've wanted to get the illusion of longer lashes w/out using oils or fake lashes. So far, this tip is working:
<ul type="square"> Use an eyelash curler before using the mascara. A good choice of mascara is Prescriptives False Eyelashes Plush.. Prescriptives It's a bit pricey but VERY effective because the brush is, well, plush. The more brushes on a mascara brush, the more lashes it can catch without the need for extra strokes.
<ul type="square"> Apply the mascara lightly and ONLY to the tips of your lashes. A lot people don't know that the very tip of their lashes are blonde -- on almost all women. Adding the mascara only to the tips of the lashes will give the appearance of longer lashes.. more coats will weigh your lashes.
Hope this helps! /images/graemlins/cool.gif

I use castor oil, I had like no bottom lashes, but now I do they are visable, and had and have the eyes problems cloged eye pores, and I must use a hot cloth over my eyes for about 15 mins, so it does cause problems
