I texlaxed 7 months ago and my hair is thriving super well and healthy. I had it cut was a neck length bob and now it is pass shoulder length. These are the 5 brands products I love and will be comfortable using most of their line for the rest of my life without anything else.

1. Aphogee
2. Creme of Nature
3. Design Essentials
4. Kérastase
5. Keracare

Honorable Mentions: I really like some of Alodia products. I need to try more of them though. Also, I like Olaplex, but only used the No. 3.

  1. Alba Ramos Derma E Haircare line (shampoo, conditioner, leave-in, mask)
  2. The Doux (Crazy Sexy Curl foam, Chief Rocka mousse, One Love co-wash)
  3. Ecoslay (Jello Shot gel)
  4. K18 (detox shampoo, leave-in)
  5. Innersense (gel)
I have a separate list for stretched/straight wear. I'm hoping to trial AG Haircare products to see if they might become go-to products.

Most of the brands I loved have either gone out of business or changed their formulas.

I loved Elucence & Aubrey Organics, they were HG status.

I loved the original formulas of Giovanni, Kenra, & Jason Naturals.

The Mane Choice had become my new go to brand but the formulas have changed

I didn't know Giovanni changed their formulas. I looked and saw they have extended their product range, but didn't know they changed the formulas. I heard GlamFam raving about the 2Chic Avocado and Olive Oil range saying it is moisturizing, but I never tried it.

I haven’t tried those lines in the range. But his lines in the mid-2000s, early 2010s like the Direct Leave-In, Smooth as Silk, 50/50, etc have all changed ingredients. The packaging changed too, I think it used to have leaves on it & now there’s lines or dots. They changed from using oils to using extracts. I know some people said adding aloe vera to the Direct Leave-In made it work the same.

I tried most of all Design Essential shampoos except for the African Chebe shampoo and the Almond and Avocado shampoo. I have the African Chebe shampoo, but I have yet to open the bottle. The shampoo looks like it would be a creamy moisturizing shampoo. I heard mixed reviews about the Almond and Avocado shampoo, so I never purchased it. The Honey Creme shampoo is super moisturizing and non-stripping. I heard people saying they have detangled with the shampoo, but I don't detangle my hair when shampooing. The Oat and Henna shampoo is supposed to be a clarifying shampoo, but it is super gentle. I like the Peppermint and Aloe shampoo to remove heavier product build up off my hair. I use the shampoo twice or three times to make sure all the product is off my head. All their shampoos are very gentle and non-stripping, so I have make sure all the product is removed and still my hair is still not stripped.

I do make sure to deep condition my hair afterwards. Their Honey Creme Moisture Retention Masque is super good and I have the the Almond and Avocado Wash Day Deep Moisture Masque, but I have not open the bottle and have not try it at the moment. I like how their shampoos are well priced and they have great deals at Sally's Beauty Supply for buy one get one 50% off often.

@WineCurls I want to try the honey creme shampoo next. I want to see how it compares to the almond & Avocado one. I have the clarifying shampoo as well and I like it.

naturellegrow is unbeatable when it comes to deep conditioners. I love them all! Great slippers and super moisturizing. I love sitting under my steamer with it.

I don't have any product lines but specific products, if I were to choose a line it would be Kinky Curly.

Kinky Curly Curling Custard
Uncle Funky Daughter's Curly Magic
Aubrey Organics White Camelia Conditioner as a leave in. The old Aubrey Organics could also be a line that I love
aloe juice
