this is 2 months since my last touch up , Im getting it done november this same time. good luck sbaker

I think 6 weeks is too short. My hair is not super thick so I don't want to make it thinner by touching it up every six weeks.

every 8 weeks is good for me, however i'm at week 8 1/2 now and my hair defintely has lots of new growth... I dont want to relax my hair for another two weeks though.

This is going to be a battle, my hair lacks moisture retention when its close to touchup time. I'm going to increase my washes to every 5 days instead of 7 (my hair needs more deep conditioning now) and I just ordered to UBH creme lotion to help me make it through these next two weeks succesfully. I may even cornrow my hair so i dont have to comb it daily (my hair also breaks when its close to touchup time).

I am trying to last 10 weeks for the first time ever.I was originally planning to go 12 weeks but I dont want to push it.I usually go 6 weeks.
I am at week 6 and my hair is so manageable it is unbelievable.I cant wait to see the extra length from waiting 10 weeks.

Stretching Touch- Ups

I like waiting longer to insure I have new growth before touch up time. Beana- my hair gets really dry before touch up therefore I tend to wash it more often. I made an appointment for 6 weeks instead of ten because I felt guilty.

Re: Stretching Touch- Ups

SBaker,

I really think that your stylist just wants you to come in more often so she can get more of your money!! I don't know about you, but my hair doesn't have nearly enough new growth at 6 weeks that they could do a touch up without overlapping onto my color-treated hair!!! And we know that's a BIG no-no!!!

Exactly. She suckered me into coming in six weeks. Next time I am going to wait at least 8 weeks.

Re: Stretching Touch- Ups

argh I couldnt wait until november, i am going ot get my hair done either today or tomoro. My hair is beginning to tangle and that means touch up time. I have about an inch of newgrowth so i guess that is good enough for me. ANd then i will get it done over December 20th or so, so my plan is every 2 -3 month to get my hair done over, no earlier.
