God's Own
I pray for everyone directly in Superstorm Sandy's path ( Carribean, New York, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, etc.). I pray that all are safe and have shelter.

I pray this prayer especially for all LHCF members, their families and love ones.

I pray that, just as the "passover: in biblical times", the storm passes over you and your loved ones with no harm or tragedy.

I pray that all LHCF members who are believers speak the words and pray to Our Father to speak the words "Peace Be Still" to calm the waters and Superstorm Sandy, just as Jesus calmed the waters after awakening from His sleep in the boat with His disciples.

PEACE BE STILL!

Thanks so much for your prayers. There are many really going through right now. I join you in prayer.

Thank you for your prayers. I live in New York City and work in Battery Park. My office looks out onto The Statue of Liberty and Governor's island and has a lovely view of new York harbor so needless to say work was shut down. You'd think I'd be ecstatic but I am bored mindless. I think no work tomorrow either. But I guess mother nature is one thing we can't control no matter how inconvenient.

I'm in MD and was supposed to start my new job today. Needless to say no work today or tomorrow. This storm is messing with my money.

@reeko43 and @venusfly - I am glad that you are safe.

Unfortunately, many who have never been or are not directly affected by something such as this storm, do not understand how crippling it can be and how dramatic lifestyle is changed for that period of time. They go on with life not realizing what others are going through. The aftermath (cleanup, insurance, replacing damaged possesions which are replaceable, the financial impact, etc) can be very devastating.

Amen to that. Thinking of you all and sending out my prayers

Thanks! The wind is sooo strong, it sounds like a ocean is in front of my house. I can't wait for this to be over. Be safe everyone!

Yes, the wind is howling outside but so far it's not too bad. I was in a worse storm in the Caribbean when I was younger and that was truly terrifying. Hurricane Gilbert in 1988 which devastated Jamaica. I am alone in my apartment but it doesn't sound as terrifying as I remember Gilbert being, probably because the houses are constructed differently. I still have power and cable although some of my friends and co-workers in Jersey texted me they lost power.

Praying for all you ladies and your families.stay safe.

Thank the Lord for folks that know how to pray. And thank you ladies also. Let's continue to keep everyone affected lifted up.

Thank God we were not affected and no one I know was badly affected but I want to pray for the 16 people who have died and their families/friends. May they R.I.P.

I hope that everyone comes out of this okay. I'm so sorry to hear of the deaths that came from this massive storm. Prayers to them and their families.

I am from New Orleans and currently living in Puerto Rico so hurricanes are a way of life for me. While this storm is one like I've never seen, no storm should ever be downplayed b/c it doesn't seem to compare. Katrina may not have affected as many states as Sandy has, but it was not "child's play". Many lives were lost and even more lives were affected from it. And I think b/c of Katrina, a lot of states were able to see how to properly prepare for a threat of a storm. It seems to me like most of the east coast states did a great job with warning the residents to take shelter and to prepare for what was to come. There's going to be a long road to recovery, but I have faith that it will be done in a timely manner.

My prayers go out to everyone affected by Sandy. May the loving arms of our Father keep you safe.

Ladies and original OP thanks for your prayers. I am in Philly and rarely does a storm/hurricane do this type of damage. My power went out last night but came on later today. To be dependent upon things that we take for granted everyday and not have it readily available is a shock. I tried several times last night to turn on the lights and totally forgetting that I had no power. Uber thankful to God cause it could have been worse.

Thank you ladies for your prayers. We didnt lose power however i have friends in Atlantic City who had to evacuate and their backyards and basements are flooded.

Thany you so much........im in nyc....queens........havent been able to do anything since sunday evening since the mta was down.....so school and work was closed......i only lost power for about an hour and has been blessed to have no damage to my home.....save for two trees in my backyard........a lot of people got it sooo much worst........there really are just a **** load of downed trees in my area

Here in NJ some of my neighbor's have trees through the roof, our electricity is out, no Internet or phone service still from Monday, nothing local is open.... We are alive so we are blessed.

On Mr.'s IPad that is the only way I can connect.

@JJamiah - we are glad to hear that you and your loved ones are safe. My prayers extend to your neighbors.

Listening to news reports and seeing the pictures of the storm's damage across numerous states is very humbling.
