For people who do both of these styles, which style do you notice less tangles/knots with? Do you think hair "type" comes into play when choosing one or the other?

Also, which style typically last longer for you?

Wouldn't just mechanics make twistouts less subject to tangles? You are dealing with two strands instead of three.

I get good braidouts... though my hair becomes curly and not wavy.

I have yet to get a good twistout. I am wondering if it's because my hair isn't as thick or coarse as others?

I haven't done both so I know my answer doesn't apply but, I will say I like doing twist outs because I can show more length with them. For me I don't get any tangles as long as I detangle well at the beginning of the week.

I get less tangles and knots with twistouts. My twistouts also last longer than my braidouts.

Twist and braid outs have been key in retaining length because my hair is stretched out...I dont get tangles from either because my is detangled before I start styling...My braids outs do last longer then my twist outs...

@PopLife, for a long time I couldnt get the perfect individual twist out/braid out because my hair was shorter, and my hair is thick...Flat twist and cornrows worked 10x's better, because all the hair was caught, and that made the pattern more consistent from root to tip....maybe you should give that a try...
