Ladies,
This was probably asked in the past, but does the length of time you leave a conditioner on really matter? I just started using the Aveda DR line and I love it...:) I usually put the reconstructor on and use heat for about 20-30 minutes, put the instructions say to leave it on for 2-5 minutes. Will it work just as well if I only leave it on for that short period of time, it cost to much to take a chance? Please let me know what you think.
Thanks!

I used the aveda dr intensive both ways 30mins with heat and 3 mins like the instructions said, my hair feels way more suptle when left on for a longer period of time and with that price I'm leaving it in for an hour next time lol,

I agree, for that price I'm going to leave it on as long as possible... I had some post relaxer shedding and it stopped it dead in it's tracks. My hair is so soft and supple, I'm scared, either my hair has turned the corner or it's getting ready to fall off my head. Somebody wrote that with the Aveda DR you don't have to worry about Stylist mishaps and they were so right. She worked the relaxer thru my ends, after I explained that I did not want that. She said that was the only way to correct my bad relaxer. I made her rinse immediately when I realized what she had done, but of course my ends are now overprocessed.:ohwell:

I have started working on restoring my hair and keeping it healthy so that I can grow out these weak ends and dust them periodically. My hair does look decent and the Aveda stopped the shedding. It feels so soft, I love it. I will try to put it in some protective styles for the next eight weeks. Thanks for replying.

At least 30 minutes for a deep conditioner.

I know, right. That stuff costs a grip. Leaving it on for a few minutes is fine but I always leave it on for a good amount of time. It just feels so much better.
