Who uses this and what has your experience been with it? With heat or without? I seems good and I wanna try it, but I don't see it mentioned much. Its a cheapie right? I think I wanna try the shea butter one.

Also, may be a dumb question but is this a protein or moisturizing deep conditioner.

I lubs this stuff! I have the Shea Butter+Mango Butter one (orange tub). I use it almost every time I deep condition, and I sometimes mix it with other conditioners. I also add olive oil and honey to it (a tip from the ladies here). It's a moisturizing conditioner - no protein.

I absolutely adore this stuff. I deep condition with it every week. I heated it up this week and added some heated olive oil and my hair was soooo soft after i rinsed.

I apply glycerine to my hair. Then pour the cholestorol in a bowl and warm it for 30 seconds then apply that to my hair over the glycerine.

I loove Lekair Cholesterol. I use the peach one, the Cholesterol Plus formula. Yes, it is a cheapie, I get mine at Wal-Mart for $1.87. I try lots of products, but this is one I always come back too. It makes a great base for mixing with other things, another conditioner, oils, etc. It contains collagen but it's not a hardcore protein conditioner in anyway. It's great for deep conditioning.

I tried it yesterday and I thought it was ok. Maybe I should do a pre poo with it for 30 min or so and maybe it will turn out better.

I love this stuff. I use the Lekair Cholestrol plus. It has really improved the condition of my hair. I have found that heat is a must with this one. Its ok without it but heat makes a huge difference for me.

ITA. I deep conditioned with this mixed with Aubrey's Honeysuckle Rose conditioner under the hood dryer and it was pure heaven on my hair!! :p

i do the same:D
i hadn't used it in years but i bought it again b/c of this board
i chose this 1 b/c it didn't have mineral oil in it
i've been using it 4 a few weeks - adds plenty extra moisture

I haven't had any luck with it at all. I usually get no softness or slip from it. I've never tried using oils with it, I might have to try it one day.

I use the aloe/green one as a deep conditioner. I mix it with olive oil and a 1/2 packet of some type of protein. It makes my hair very soft and the comb slips through easily.

I sleep with it on my hair as a poo once per week.

Me too. I get my hair damp, run oil through it. Then the conditioner. I put it into two mini buns, wrap it and go to bed. Or, if my hair is feeling especially dry I will use a little mixed with some oil in my palm on my ends.

And if you're in a pinch you can use a little on your palms to smooth strays if you have your hair up. It works about as well as gels and you on't get clakes or anything.

Whoops! I think I lied on another thread. I was all ready to post my experience with LeKair so I ran to get the jar and I don't have Lekair, I have Lustrasilk. Jacking the thread...
In case anyone is interested, its another cheapie conditioner. I'll start a separate thread about it. ;)

I use the LeKair Cholesterol off and on. (Original peach orangey colored one) I plan to make it more of a mainstay in my regimen as part of pre-shampoo treatments. When I use it, I always use heat/plastic cap/under the hooded dryer.

Yes, I just used it yesterday. Put it on, sat under dryer for 15 min and rinsed. My hair felt so soft. I love this stuff!

I've gone back to using Lekair Cholesterol. I was having problems with shedding for the past month and I started using it again after every wash. It has relieved the shedding quite well and it leaves my hair with an incredible sheen that lasts until my next conditioner wash. Plus it's been nice to revisit an old favorite from my relaxer/texturizer days. Last time I used it I didn't have great results with it. But I was transitioning at the time and my hair was rebelling towards a lot of products. I'm gonna stick to using the Lekair after a shampoo and the Tresemme' Vitamin E conditioner on days I just conditioner wash.

BTW - I've come to the conclusion that my shedding was caused by those Clairol Herbal Essences conditoners. I really loved the Hello Hydration and the Color Me Happy but I'm gonna have to give them up. My hair has turned around for the better since I stopped using them.

I use the Lustrasilk Shea Butter and Mango Cholesterol and the Tea Tree Cholesterol. It works for me, my hair is usually very moisturized and soft. LeKair works also. I use both of them with heat.

I came to this board using Lekair Cholesterol. I liked it well enough I guess... It got the job done. I was cowashing and deep conditioning with great results using it.

You know I have this and have been using it for , what, almost a year? And I am just coming to the realization that I don't really like it. My hair feels too weighed down with it. Maybe I use too much. How much do you guys use for deep conditioning?

I use it for mid week deep conditions under the heating cap for 30 minutes or cowashes. I have the shea butter one and I have the Olive Oil one:)

Its ok for me. I only like it for a mid-week co-wash. Its not as good as humecto or CON conditioner in my opinion.

My hair absolutely loves this. When I first went natural, it was my staple and it kept my hair moist, strong, resilient, I never had any breakage. I used to find it at Walgreens, no problem.

Then a couple of years ago, Walgreen's stopped selling it, I couldn't find it anywhere, so I stopped using it, and my hair has never been the same.:( I think I may have to travel 1 hour away to an Asian :look: BSS to stock up on some.
