Leftover relaxer

I know this has been asked and answered before but I cannot find the right words to have the search engine find it.
I have part of a 15 oz. container of Silk Elements relaxer left over from last week, room temperature. I asked the hairdresser for the container and am saving it until I buy a big tub container then use the 15 ounce jar to transport it to the salon when needed. Do I throw away the remainder,store in the fridge or what? How long can I keep the big tub before it loses efficacy

I just store mine in a cool, dark closet with my other products. Your talking about the lye relaxer, right? That you can keep a while.
