Learning my letters and numbers....

I've been searching but I have yet to find the thread/post that explains the acronyms in the posts and siggy's such as 4a etc. My first thought is that this is the color of the hair, but since I am not sure I thought I'd just jump right in and ask. Thanks for the info.

the letters and numbers denote hair type - not color. If you do a search you should be able to find an explanation of what the different types are - but in short they range from 1a - 4b or 4c (depending on who you talk to) with 1a being stick straight and 4b being the kinkiest of Fros.

lol...I'm very confused by it. I keep seeing 4aiii and I'm like "okaaayyy, what does that mean." I assume 4zzzz means very very coarse and is a joke playing off of the current classification system?
