Two times ago when I got my touch up I worked out that morning (Insanity) and my scalp burned like crazy and I only have it on for 10 minutes. Last time I got my touch up I wasn't working out and I didn't have any problems. Now I'm working out again and I'm wondering how many days before my touch up do I need to stop working out?

I've washed my hair the day before a touch up and had no problem. Perhaps you need to grease your scalp prior to the application. Good luck!

Yes maybe greasing your scalp first. I used to spray my scalp with oil sheen before I got a touch up and it really helped.

I've read that sweating opens your pores in your scalp and makes it burn more. Will grease help that?

I would think by the time you get to the salon, your pores should no longer be open. I would think you would have to work out and go right into the salon for that to happen. Your pores should not stay open hours on end.

Last time I worked out that morning, and that's the first time I've ever had burning like that. It was awful!!! and I've been getting relaxers for >30 years.

Open pores are no joke! I self relax, and wouldn't you know it , I had night sweats. I thought I had gotten my pores closed and the moisture gone, but I was wrong. Worst burning EVER! I usually go 16-17 minutes. I barely made it to 12.

The only saving grace was that I was doing half and half - when I did the other half later no problem.

Sorry not to get back earlier. After getting the" oh my goodness" burned out of me, I did the other half 4 days later. It was perfect - no burns!
