My mom loves lanolin, she uses it on her hands mostly and it's a fabulous moisturizer. I never even thought about using it on hair though.... Hmmm.. I might try this.

Thanks for posting!:)

Very interesting. The only bad thing that I've heard about lanolin is it blocks you your hair follicles. I wonder if that's true?

Thank you very much Chayil :)
This is very interesting. I'll try to find more info about it and see if I can find lanolin here.

Very interesting... I would have never thought of using lanolin, as I know that it's used for waterproofing, and if I avoid cones because I don't want to block moisture from getting to my hair - I am avoiding lanolin for the same reason.

Hmmm - I betcha it would help keep your hair straight/not reverting though, if used with a flatiron or a blowout....

Very intersting. I learned a lot. I always heard that Lanolin can have the tendancy to attract dirt (and hence extra build-up), though. Have you experienced any extra build-up on your hair? If not, watch out for it. Please keep us updated with your experiences.

I use straight lanolin (from Now) on my 7 year old's hair when creating braids and twists. I like how thick and nourishing it is. The wooly smell can be a bit powerful, but it fades soon enough. Her hair ends up sheeny and soft.

The hair greases that our mothers used on our hair when we were little girls for pressing and on our scalps had lanolin, petroleum, mineral oil and bees wax in them...but our hair was so thick, healthy and moist then. :)

I use Roux Mendex as a deep conditioner and the primary moisturizing ingredient is lanolin. It's good stuff:)
