Do you use it while your hair is wet? My hair is very coily natural as you know and I am a little nervous about combing my wet hair. It works great on my dry hair though.

The K-Cutter I have, my son has confiscated, he uses it on his dry hair. I use it on mine when it's wet primarily (when I can pry it from him  ). It definitely helps w/the comb out of my new growth (it's a jungle in there!).

I only use the K cutter when my hair is wet. I would be afraid to use it on my dry hair.

Laketta--

Great Question. I was actually wondering the same thing. Your hair seems similar to mine. I am currently transitioning--for the last five months. I have been alternating wearing my hair in braids and straigtening it with a Chi flat iron.

How did you transtition? Do you straighten your hair frequently? Have you seen any damage as a result?

Thanks

I use my k-cutter on wet hair only, while I'm conditioner washing in the shower. It helps to detangle my strands and not have pile of potential breakage on the top of my head.

I use mine when my hair is wet. The K-Cutter master(Nay) taught me to hold it behind the teeth instead of using the handle.

I loose way less hairs when I use it when it's wet.

Ditto!

I have one too and I found it easier to hold it under the teeth instead of the handle. I can control it better.

when I transitioned, I did press and curl for about 6 months before I did the BC which left me with 3 inches of hair. At the time I visited hairdressers and the one I had was good. My natural hair did not suffer visible damage.

OK I got it through dry the other day but only after I detangled it in the shower first and applied oil right before...NO breakage.

I use the K-Cutter on damp hair (after it has airdried a bit). I hold it vertically so that the handle lines up with my wrist. Then I use one or two of the long metal teeth to gently pick through tangles and separate my hair. It takes a while, but I have absolutely no breakage.

I don't have one so I'm not too sure as to why you would buy a comb that you have to be gentle with and use techniques to avoid it breaking your hair?

Just curious to know, what's so good about this comb?
