Ladies with hair waist length and longer....

I was just looking at the hair length poll so I know there are a few of you out there. Can you please jot a few notes about your current hair journey? Like comments/compliments you get on your hair, pretty hair toys you get to use, that sort of thing.

That stupid post on TLHS about how women of colour can't grow long hair still has my hackle up a little bit. But I am not looking for "proof" per se as much as I am looking for inspiration. It seems like such a long way away for me...

LB, I think there was a time when most of us on this site didn't have a clue that our hair could be long and healthy (relaxed or natural), Probably believed the nonsense that only certain "types" of hair could achieve great lengths,
And probably felt that we didn't have too many choices as far as what our hair was capable of.

But now can't nobody tell us nothing. There are so many beautiful healthy growing heads of hair on this board that it is OBVIOUS that black folks' hair is phenomenal, period.

Just keep giving your hair TLC and stay away from things that will damage your hair, and I promise you that your hair will amaze you /images/graemlins/smile.gif

P.S. If you look in my before/after section of my web page, you will see that I went from being one length FOREVER to longer than I ever thought it would get.

I think I know which post you are talking about. A few of us here are members over there. But when you come to this site you'll see that the post is definately not true.

Right now, my hair is over 23". According to some sites I've read about black womens hair, my hair shouldn't even be this long, it should be just at shoulderlength. Don't let that comment get you down. We prove a lot of skeptics wrong all the time! /images/graemlins/smile.gif

I'm certainly far from being waist length but there are several features of the month that are waist length or near it like Sherrylove, Supergirl, adrienne0914, Zanna, etc. Check this thread that Nay posted a few weeks ago: All of the FOTM's, (From beginning to now)
