1. Do u think its a good protective style?
2. How long can u wear them, before they looked bad?
3. How do they affect your edges?

I was told by a stylist that, none of your real hair shows, and she could do them, so there's less tension on the hairline. And they last from 4-6wks. She charge $150. That's with the hair.

I have them in now. It's only been 5 days so i can answer some of your question yet. I have heard they are a good protective style...check out dontspeakdefeat's fotki

1. For me they were not a good protective style because I have fine hair.

2. I wore mine for about 5 weeks before they started to look bad

3. I believe that wearing my tree braids pulled back tightly tore out my edges. Luckily I was able to grow them back :)

Treebraids didn't work for me but they may work for you if you take care of them properly (which I didn't because I didnt' know any better back then)

I've had tree braids:
1. Do u think its a good protective style? They were a very good protective style especially since I was stretching my relaxer
2. How long can u wear them, before they looked bad? I wore mine for about a month. My new growth was out of control.
3. How do they affect your edges? My edges were just fine after I took the out. I told the braider not to braid tight at all around the edges.

I had lacing braids. I am not sure if they are the same as tree braids. Just Google lacing braids to get a picture. I 'll have to put some up of mine up. But, I LOVED the lacing braids. I had lacing braids in the front along the part, and a sew in in the back. None of my hair showed. My edges are thin, so I couldn't wear them too long. But, I swear I would get them again. My hair grew very nice also. I kept my hair oiled, and everything. I give them a thumbs up,:grin:especially if you have thick hair.
