I'm going to stop getting blowouts done so frequently. I want to try blowdrying my hair again when I'm 3+ months post relaxer.

So, to all my ladies that blowdry...

1). What kind of heat protectant do you use and how do you use it?
2). Do you use a separate brush with the dryer or use the comb that comes with the dryer?
3). Do you dry it on the hot setting or warm? (is there a big difference?)
4). Do you use any other products afterwards to combat dryness?

I won't do this often, only 4 times every 4 months.

Hey

1-I use John Frieda frizz ease xtra strength serum on my hair while wet.
2-I use the comb that comes with the dryer, then I use a seperate soft round brush to get it straight
3-I dry it always on hot setting. My hair will laugh at warm.
4-I use a bunch of stuff afterwards, I use jojoba oil, I use NTM serum, I use NTM silk touch leave in, all helps me combat dryness.

I do this twice a month.

Saturate and comb thru Keracare blowdrying lotion.
Sometimes mix in Mizani Thermastrength.

2). Do you use a separate brush with the dryer or use the comb that comes with the dryer?
I broke my comb attachment years ago from my coarse hair.
Use a regular comb (in my hand) and the blow dryer in the other hand.

3). Do you dry it on the hot setting or warm? (is there a big difference?)
I only blow dry when I'm rushing - so the warmest setting!

4). Do you use any other products afterwards to combat dryness?
No, the keracare is pretty moisturizing for me.

Thanks ladies...sylver2, I didn't know you used a dryer

yup, thats all I have ever used my whole life. I can't rollerset for crap.
So after wash, I section hair, blow dry with dryer/comb, then I slide the comb off, position hair on round brush and blowdry straight, like the dominican blowout. I do that majority of time. Other times when I'm stretching I do the hood dryer scarf method.

Girl, you must have some good genes with all you do to your hair and still have long, healthy hair. It looks great!

Thanks girl, but thats just it. Thats all I do to my hair. I wash hair every 12 days. In between , I don't do anything, i don't comb it, brush it or even touch it. The entire summer I blew dry it once. I wore braid out the whole summer.
