Ladies that bun it up...

give me pointers- did you purchase do-hickies that create the perfect bun? How creative are you when it comes to bunning? As you all can see in my siggy (thanks Mahalialee!!) I am trying to do right by my hair with more protective styles. It's my weak version of a french twist

It looks pretty Bubbln...

I basically twist my length until it makes 1 big coil... then coil around til it forms a bun...then I'll put a satin scrunchie around it (like a ponytail) to hold it.

No problem: (smile) After a while it will come so natural to do the F. twist, you could do it without a mirror and walk with it. Bonjour

Bubln, your hair and your French twist are very pretty. I wear my hair that way sometimes, too.

I don't put my hair in a bun too often but when I do, I do it exactly how PeachTree described above, except I don't use a scrunchie (or pins) to secure it. I just let the bun hold itself. Sometimes I like to add hair sticks for interest, though. They look nice in a French twist, too.

PeachTree, your hair is very pretty as well.

The twist looks good. i wear my hair like that sometimes also. My bun is a braid at the nape of my neck that I roll and pin. It's in my album. Very simple. I am bored with it though. But I wash almost daily as more of a habit than anything. So, when i do other styles and try to go a few days without washing....I feel like my haor is so dirty. So, I'm kinda stuck being a natural because of this. Anyway, that's what I do...

TThreat- that is very cute and elegant. I wish I could do a braided bun by my hair shrinks so much in its natural state that I would only be able to wrap the hair around once!

Well....I actually didn't wrap the braid. It only LOOKS like I wrapped it. I rolled it. You just braid and tuck the braid under (rolling a couple times or however much to accomodate the length of your hair), and then pin un each side with bobby pins.

I either make a single braid and tuck it under using a Good Hair day pin, or I use a foam donut. I have a bun folder in my album.
