I'm going to be moving to Germany (near Mannheim) within the next couple of weeks and wanted to know what products you use and where to get them. Any help would be lovely!!! TIA

I'm in the U.S. now but before we moved to Germany, we stocked up on our products. (Packed them with our household goods) I'm not sure how AAFES is now but back then, the PX didn't have a lot of the stuff my mom liked to use. We had to get our stuff from the states.

I just got back from Germany, I was there the last 7 years. The PX has a lot of the commercial hair products but if you are looking for healthy, I had to order everything online or when I took trips back to the states like Platinum said, we stocked up and mailed it over. Good luck with your trip...hope you enjoy it.

I use a lot of natural products. I tend to shop a lot from iherb.com. The carry a lot of my oils.

I'm in Denmark and I get some products from either the grocery store or online. They do carry major brands here like Pantene, Nivea, Schwarzkopf and Garnier Fructis. The best route with that is to buy the products for color treated or damaged hair. They tended to be the best ones.

For my black soap, shea butter and oils, I order online from
www.sheabuttercottage.com You can also find some sulfate free shampoos and other goodies in the health food stores. Another good place to order from is www.baldwins.co.uk an online health store. They carry oils, herbs and supplements.

For products like Creme of Nature, Silicon Mix and other products I miss from the states, I use www.afrohairsecrets.dk which is run by one of our members. Great customer service. The thing with ordering online is to try and find shops within the EU, saves on shipping and taxes.

And you can always have folks send you stuff from back home. If you aren't in the military, have them send it to you as a gift. I'm not sure about the rules in Germany, but in DK, I have to make sure they value the package at less than $50 so I don't have to pay taxes on the value of the package.
