What affordable brands do you like/love/swear by??

I have used some good stuff that is inexpensive..
Cream of Nature
some ORS things
some Suave

etc... I was just wondering what lines would you recommend if you arent trying to pay alot for products...

:)

I love my $2-$3 Lustrasilk Shea Butter Conditioner tub (smells so yummy) and my $4.50 Loreal Smooth Intense moisturizing cream.

Since it seems like all my other favorites are so expensive, these are always such a pleasure to use.

I'm always on a budget when it comes to my hair. I stick with ORS hair mayo and Creme of Nature shampoo. The only pricey product I use Is Joico K-pak reconstructor. Every other product I use is under $15.
I also like therma silk products and Dove. Pretty inexpensive but good.:)

Add:
Elasta QP (loving the intense conditioner)
Rasta Jamaica and Lime products
Dr. Woods (castille soap for washing)
Generic brands (from Sally's for clarifying)
VO5
Soft and Precious (detangler)

I LOVE dove and I only use Thermasilk Leave In Creme...

I guess this is the nucleus of my PJ'ism..

Always thinking something is better out there...

Right Now Im using CON Poo..Organics Hair Mayo, Motions Weightless Detangling Conditioner.. Replenishing Pak.. I just need to do a good hard protien...

Thanks for this post! Its nice to know that people who dont have regular paychecks can still maintain their hair.

I bought Avalon from Whole Foods on sale. Natures Gate has some sales too.
Sally's/Suave Generics can help also.

I love these kind of cheapie but goodies threads! :p

All of my products are under $10 with the exception of Rusk Smoother because I just bought the Costco size bottle for $13.99 (a steal.) Check out my staples in my siggy. I also like Africa's Best Ultimate Herbal Oil and La Bella condtioner. Cheap conditioners are a particular weakness for me. I am definitely all about the look for less! :sekret:

Some good stuff in each line:)

Elasta QP - Mango butter, deep con
Suave - Naturals great for pre-poo, humectant good mixed w/ coconut oil
Motions - Lavish moisture
Aphogee - shampoo and recon
ORS - You know and love RP and mayo
Silk Elements - $4 for 8 oz of leave-in, $3.50 for 16 oz relaxer

adding tresemme products to the list. their conditioner is 32 oz for something $3.99-$4.99. i don't believe any of their products are expensive. i'm really digging this line:)

Suave-conditioners
Vo5-conditioners
Herbal Essence-conditioners, clarifyer
Dove-conditioners
Garnier Fructis-conditioners & styling aids
Pantene-shampoos, conditioners
Fantasia IC-shampoos, gels, leave-in conditioner, serums
Elasta QP-shampoo
Creme of Nature-shampoo
African Royale-leave in conditioner
Indian hair products- oils
White Rain-conditioners
La Bella-shampoo and conditioners
Nutrine-garlic poo
Tresseme-conditioners
Cantu-moisturizer, conditioner
Kids Organics-moisturizer
Mane & Tail-Protein shampoo and conditioner

Im sorry but unfortunately i believe that those cheap products work great on natural hair but not so good on relaxed hair. I get way better results with expensive salon products. that really sucks! The only cheapies i've put in my hair and noticed a considerable positive result is CON and eQP products... seriously.

I absolutely love the Vo5 Smoothing Souffle and the Straightening Gel. The smoothing souffle allowed me to wear my hair down everyday last summer without 1 strand getting frizzy or dry. The straightening gel helped during those tough times when I was like 20 weeks post and reaching for the relaxer box...and I didn't even have to use heat with it, it made my rollersets last 10 days in the 90 degree summer heat.
I also really like the Jason's Natural Thin-to-Thick system. The shampoo and conditioner came together and only cost me $8.49. Wanna get the elixer but I can't wash my hair everyday and you have to use it at night and wash it out every morning. Oh, and my beloved Tresemme Anti-Breakage....after using this for 1 month I didn't have a single hair in the comb. Love it.

I always think about this. If I was to go broke if I could make a cheap regimen what would I use. I concluded this:

POO-CON Detangling, V05 Kiwi for clarifying
CON-Garnier Long and Strong
LEAVE-IN-Pantene Comb through
OIL-Kemi OYL
MOISTURIZER-Kemi oyl+Garnier con+water in a spray bottle

Well I would recommend the SunSilk hydra TLC... I love there products!
I think that I am going to make this my staple. They are very affordable and get the job done. Atleast for me anyways;)

I am trying to stick to cheaper products. I got tired of sending away for expensive things in the mail (Curling Custard, One Condition, Elucence MBC.) I may have to relent on the Elucence MBC, though, I miss it.

Best Cheapies:
Vo5 Moisture Milks conditioner $.99
World of Curls Oil Curl Activator Gel $3.99
S-Curl Texturizer Gel $3.99
Hawaiian Silky 14 en 1 Spray $3.99
The Palma Christi Castor Oil $4.99 for 16 oz

TreSemme Anti-Breakage Conditioner
TreSemme Vitamin E Shampoo
TreSemme Vitamin E Conditioner
Suave Milk-n-Honey
NTM Silk Touch Leave-in Conditioner

They are new right??

I just started seeing them around ..

yeah, me too. I tried the samples first and I liked them so much that I ended up buying the conditioner, moisturizer, and the hair mask. I only use the Hydra TLC. It is working good for me so far. Someone did a post not to long ago about getting free samples and it had more info about the product;)

At walmart they have a sample pack thats 2.50 and it has a sample of the poo/cond and I guess depending on which you buy (moisturizing etc) you get something else..

I was gonna get it, but I think Im good with moisture, my hair is weak right now.. :(

I cannot really use most cheap products either. The only two that work for me are the ones's I mentioned - the Lustrasilk Shea Butter as a rinse out conditioner and the Loreal Smooth Intense Moisturizing cream. I do like the Roux Porosity Control line, although it is not really "cheap" I guess.

Suave, V05, and all of that just does nothing for my hair. I prefer Redken Smooth Down, Kenra Moisturizing, Keracare and lines like that.

I love my silk elements....everything in that line is priced soo well, even the relaxer and the liter sized shampoo and conditioner. I also love my island oil which it about 4.99.

AtOne Reconstructor and Motions CPR, Lavish conditioning shampoo and Motions Moisture plus conditione! (You can get a 30 oz tub for like 12.00!)
I am going back to this stuff cause nothing else works (Nexuss sucked on my hair!)
