I am in tears right now . Some please help me calm down. Okay , it all started today I was taking out my kinky twist and after I took them outI detangled and pick it out the best I can. Then I decided to give myself an aphogee protein treatment after I washed it. Then next thing you know my hair is tightly matted in the back. I tried to loosen the matts up and they wont budge. On top of that I have been stretching my relaxer for 8 months so its pretty bad.
The thing that scares me is that I am afraid of any set backs because since I joined this forum I gained 3 inches. Whats a girl to do cut it off and go natural or is there a way that I dont know about of getting these matts out of my hair.
Please repond cause my first thought is to chop it off.
Let me remind yall that my hair is about an inch past armpit and if I cut it to my newgrow it might me maybe 2 inches long.

Use the most moisturizing conditioner you have and if possible, follow it up with a acidifying conditioner like Porosity Control. Or if you can, get Daily Defense Tender Apple or Energizing Ginger conditioner or Aussie Knot Forgotten conditioner. Those conditioner provides the best slip in my experience.

CALM DOWN AND TAKE YOUR TIME!!

First of all, I agree with CW. Get the most moisturizing conditioner you can find (like she said the porosity control one gives very good slippage).
Use a wide-tooth comb and SLOWLY go through your hair starting at the ends and try to get as much of the matting out as you possibly can.

I haven't ever had a problem like this before but that's what I would do, especially the really moisturizing conditioner because I have heard that Aphogee can be a killer. Good luck and be careful.

I'm so sorry. Are you near a walgreeens? I would soak my hair in conditioner and then use the tangle tamer.

When I had monster tangles, the tangle tamer helped me get them out.

Whatever you do, don't go near any scissors tonight...the last thing you want to do is to start cutting.

I hope the moisturizing conditioner and careful detangling works.

use a spray bottle and conditioner and go thru small sections with a K Cutter comb. I swear, this comb could take out locks.

I say try the NTM hair mask as conditioner and the K cutter comb and slowly seperate the tangles. Works for me .
