I have been reading about this and it seems to be something that will help with growth for the hair

Who is taking this or have before and what are results from taking it.

I took it when back when I first joined the boards and got great results. The pill were from the Vitamin Shoppe. I dont like taking pills, so I didnt stick with it.

My friend who has fine hair also took them and she noticed that her new growth was way thicker that before.

Thanks and I think I will be trying these out as well.

I took L-Cysteine for about 2 months. During that time I did experience a lot of hair growth but I'm not sure if I can attribute all of the growth to L-cysteine because I was also taking MSM and surging as well. I do know however that my eyelashes got longer once I started taking L-Cysteine so I know that it was causing some growth. How much, I can't say for sure.

I took about 1g of L-cysteine but I also had to take 2g of Vitamin C (1:2 ratio). Apparently Vitamin C helps keep L-Cysteine in its reduced and soluble form. Others have used NAC which apparently doesn't oxidize as quickly as L-Cysteine.

So give it a try. Right now I'm on a L-cysteinine hiatus. I don't want it build up in my system and also I'm assuming that you reach a point of saturation where it becomes ineffective. Also just an advanced warning L-Cysteine has the tendency to smell like rotting eggs so carry breath mints around just in case. ;)

I'm taking it well its actually in the hair, skin & nail vitamins that I take! I havent noticed any speedy growth but I must say that the texture of my hair has changed its softer. But I take flaxseed pills also & the HSN pills have MSM in them also so I dont know what to contribute it to.

Thanks

L-cystiene is a great amino acid for your hair and skin. Remember like the other lady said, take it with 2x the vitamin C. Also don't take it for more than 3 months straight. It is better on your system to take a break after a couple of months of use. You can switch aminos like 3 months cysteine, 3 months lysine if you like. If you take the NAC formula, then you don't really have to take a break. L-cystiene is also an antioxiant.
