I was flipping through this month's Upscale magazine, and notice an advertisement for her products and website. Here's to women doing it up big!

I like Cathy Howse....I am still in the mist of ordering her products..want to try them soooo bad...well only the deep con. Though she had taught me and HUNDREDS of black sistas how to COMMONLY take care of there hair...which I ADMIRE... some people seem to be hatin/or they do not give her credit. I have NO clue why this is so I aint gone dwell on it :ohwell:. But anyways Kudos to her success on educating black woman and continuing to make her knowledge and products known!!!:yep:

I have all her products and her book, if wasn't for her website I wouldn't be taking a serious approach to my hair and i would have never found lhcf. I give her all the props, that sista is definitely doin it big :yep:you go girl!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:clapping:

same here! and that deep conditioner is off the chain!

I love Cathy's products & methods. Between her & LHCF I have been able to reach my 1st goal (apl) and now I am off to BSL and beyond!!

I'm dropping in here to give her kudos too. She started me on my hair care journey. I've used her products a couple of times but her advice was 10x's as nice. It basically confirmed a lot of what I believed about hair care and going to her site lead me here to lhcf. I've heard people complain about her attitude but I haven't encountered it so I can't judge. I did meet her sister before who was really nice and helpful (with beautiful hair!!)

I agree with all of you. She started me off on my journey. I loved her book(II) and her products. As much as I love Aveda, I still use her Deep Con and moisturizers (dew and creme)...

her book changed my hair life:grin:

Ditto, when I started my hair journey in 2000, her book was the first one bought. Of course, it was one of the only ones out there in those years that was simple, easy to follow and wasn't very expensive. I still have it around here somewhere. Cathy's a smart woman. I met her once (at her free seminar in Murfreesboro, TN 2003, I was natural by then :)) and even though she wasn't very open to other's ideas about haircare ( I had some "natural" hair questions), I still applaud her for educating me on haircare when I was still relaxed. My relaxed hair really thrived using her methods before I decided to go natural. Go Cathy! :)

:clapping:Way to go Cathy! I still read her book (II) from time to time to keep me current. I still use her products from time to time (conditioner) and I appreciate her honesty.

Hey Ladies,

I have read her book as well and credit it for helping me begin this journey to healthy hair. I was wondering how you all feel about her thoughts on NO TRIMMING? I got my touch up today and my dominican stylist and I were debating the issue......she won for now:spinning: I let her take off no more than an inch or less.....

I don't necessarily agree with every thing Cathy says so I take what info I need for her and do what works for me. I don't think that split or ragged ends work against your hair growing efforts, I just think that they don't look nice. Plenty of members here don't trim their ends regularly and still have a nice growth and their hair looks good. That's not easy for me, my ends will break off and mess up my growth. I now get my ends trimmed with every TU, which is now 12 or 13 weeks. That seems to be working for me, but you have to find what's right for you.
