Now I know how they feel when we try to get their hair.

:look:

Close, but no cigar. It looks like heat damagd 4b hair. She's cute, she needs some moisturizer or something to tighten it up though.

With they asian asses...
tryin to trick us.

Can you imagine how jacked up they are going to look when they need a touch up? You know its gonna matt and break off.:lachen:

Well I'll be dizzam'd :)

Not to be controversial but Comedian Paul Mooney said it best
"e'rbody wanna be black but nobody wanna be black.......I can't wait till they start lynching mofos again and they we gon' see who's really black"

I figured it would happen.

Nobody wants to be natural anymore so Asians have taken it upon themselves.

If we won't wear our real hair, somebody out there is gonna do it. Just like when we started bleaching ourselves. White folks took to tanning. Being black really has become a "Use it or lose it" sort of thing.

Y'all should be scared. I know I am.

I've seen it before, but on Japanese. They have a big dancehall and reggae culture over there. Hey, take it as a compliment!

I wonder if folks who know they are 4b and want to go natural can get this done to their relaxed hair.

I want to know how it works. Maybe they just set the hair on tiny rods with a curly perm for several hours or something? Comb it out real good and thats it? Some of them were coming out curly. I was thinking about doing it myself:rolleyes:

I'm shocked yet flattered.:look: For years people have labeled Afro hair as "bad hair". Now, people are paying money to have hair like mine.:yep:

poookie you crack me up...:lachen:

you know hair is going to crap these days with these jacked up hair cuts :nono:
Lookin like Stevie Wonder and Edward Scissorhands were fighting over who would cut this man's hair

I think it's really awesome... nappy hair shouldn't just be limited to us... just like straight hair isn't limited to asians and euros...

I've actually seen this before because I browse Japanese street style sites a lot

It looks wrong to me. I don't know, maybe I'd get used to it, but def the first time I saw it in real life I would be :eek2:. But someone on another site said she saw someone who was growing his out, straight roots and nappy ends. Wow.

I've actually seen this before. I had to do a double take because I wasn't sure what I was seeing. I'm not sure if he was chinese or japanese but he had a afro on his head. I was staring at him.

I remember reading about this sometime ago on another hair board and they use really harsh chemicals to do this to their hair. Can you imagine what chemicals they would have to use to make straight hair napp up?

I don't think I would take it as a compliment, it doesn't look natural to me. Idk, it looks weired.

Don't you remember those asian dancers Gwen stafani has, They have afro perms too!

That sounds like a good theory and then they probably wet right after it completely sets so that it gets frizzy & (nappier)

WOW! I'm amazed.
I guess if my hair were as straight as most Koreans...I'd want a change too.

They all have raggedy chemically damaged ends IMO. It really just looks like those fake synthetic afros that fall apart, or combed out brillo pads. If imitation is flattery then I don't want to be a fool getting relaxers to flatter white folks anymore...... I am flattered in the sense that they do obviously like our hair... I am not flattered because this style is a HAM compared to the real thing. But then again... most women with relaxers have hair that looks a HAM compared to the real thing... So can't really say Asians are the only ones lookin wack:nono:

I guess it makes sense this had to come out sometime. Everybody wanna be black, but don't nobody wanna be black. Now everyone can get all the benefits of being us without being one of us... We're just a fad in their eyes. I know this, if that wasn't the case, people wouldn't make stupid 70s and slavery-time jokes everytime one of us went natural, like our hair was somehow only relevant in two different eras in history. Well our hair came back into style in the 2000's and the Asians didn't miss a beat.:lachen:

The only good I can see from this is maybe black folks will stop relaxing as much? If I was relaxed and I saw a bunch of white/asian/caucasian hispanics sporting these awful attempts at afros... I would transition with a quickness to show them that our natural beauty can't be imitated.
Which reminds me, I'm definitely still transitioning...

Kinda OT: Remember that stupid music group that decided being black was a "State of mind?" Who was it? A bunch of white people claiming they were black because they had "soul" and that was their state of mind. Maybe this all those white folks who want to be down can use this to add to that "I have black in my family" lie. I can picture some chump deciding that if he gets his hair done that way he can "pass." You know plenty of us do that mess with relaxers so I wouldn't expect any less with these nappy treatments.

ETA: BTW before anyone gets heated, I really am just poking fun at it. I still think the girl is cute... she does need a trim and some Motions Spray or something though...

I don't see anything wrong with it. It's no different form us using chemicals to straighten our hair. That causes damage and yet we still do it--to have straight hair. As long as they're not doing it to make fun of us, I don't see anything wrong with it.

Tell it!!:yep::yep:

It is a fad, a couple of years ago it was the whole latin thing, and years before that it was the asian thing, and even before that it was the whole native american thing. Anyway, I like it. If they want to screw their hair up, then that's on them. >>> Evs:rolleyes:

OT: Since black culture is the "in" thing right now..via hip hop, of course. Then erm, the name of that website seems a little off.
Maybe they misinterpreted the meaning?

All I can say is Wow. Honestly I was flattered. I never imagined another race wanting afro hair :lachen:

I know they probably get sick of their straight hair though
