I took my bantu knots out yesterday. It was very interesting to hear the reactions from people at work before I took them out. One person called them “Cinnamon Rolls”, someone said my hair was “all balled up”.

I got double takes quite often (LOL!) and my knots got a friendly tap here and there all day. I think people at work sometimes get a kick out of my hair and that’s fine with me as long as it’s in a friendly way. I’ve never seen Bantu knots in person before, so I’m happy to bring the style to work with me.

Bantu knots will definitly be a repeat style for me. I love them! Anyway, on to the knot out.

I liked it. It didn’t quite turn out as uniform as I expected, but I liked it and it got a lot of compliments (even from DH!). When I originally took the knots out, they were very shrunken, which I was expecting. I twisted my hair right after removing the knots, applied some KBB Super Silky, and tied it down with a scarf. The big twists really help to stretch the hair out but retain the knot out pattern.

I also wore it back with just the bang part peeking out some.

This is my second time doing this style, the first time turned out badly, but this time was better.

Next time I think I will get it just right.

Pretty! I love bantu knots too...and that was a great idea to do twists after taking them down to stretch out the hair further!

Cute!

Bantu knot outs are the only style that consistently look good on me. I always just let my hair fall naturally instead of stretching it right after, that way I can keep the style for a week. It starts as a curly fro and then it seems to morph day by day.

They look really pretty on you! You're a good sport...cause if somebody tap my bantu knots...I'm punching them :look: :)

I may try this method next time, but I have to go swimming tomorrow and didn't want to wait for it to fall.

Well, it was a friendly tap and I knew the person, so I didn't mind :lachen:

Looks great! I can't every seem to get them to work.

Keep trying! My first time was disastrous, but I'm getting better.

Very nice! I wish I could bantu knot well. My little coils always go in different directions. Anyway, very nice style on you!
