I am so tired of using this stuff. I'm not sure if my hair has grown tremendously or not. I haven't been consistent. I'm going to use it for three months and then see if I have tremnendous growth. Now, only if I can find my camera.

Heeey girlie!!! *waving*

Well it's funny, because when I first started using MTG I did not really notice the results myself. It was only when the Dominican ladies at the salon (who had been doing my hair for 5 years then) started commenting that I began to take heed. The first way it started to affect my hair is that my hair was way THICKER. Mind you, i've always had very fine/thin hair.... so the fact that the stylists are commenting on my hair being thicker was noteworthy. They were asking me what i've been doing with my hair, how am i getting it so much thicker, it looks so different, bring the oil to show me mami, etc. Thats when i started paying attention myself. Now i realized that it was not only thicker, but also longer!

I would say that all of this happened over a course of a few months.... maybe 3 or 4 months of consistent use. So I think that if you use it regularly for 3 months you will see change! Of course, a watched kettle never boils, but i guarantee that folks around you will see the difference. I mean, it just kinda sneaks up on you one day. I know that seems weird, but thats the best way i can explain it. All of a sudden people in my salon were commenting on my hair and asking me what i was doing with it! That felt sooo good, and i knew that all that dern MTG'ing was finally paying off! :D

I attribute this change to the MTG because that is really the only new thing that i added to my regimen at this time. Sure, i was doing a few other things as well, but i believe the MTG is what resulted in most of the change. I noticed when i stopped using MTG over the last few months, my growth has slowed a bit. So im really trying to get back into using it again. Ive just gotten kinda lazy, thats all.

HTH girl!!!! :p

Okay missy, you have to use it consistently to see results!!! :whip: Every now and then *aint* gonna cut it! Got it??!!! K, got it!!! ;)

Oh, I also wanted to add that I know MTG (growth aids, in general) is controversial across boards, as many ppl do not believe that anything applied topically can cause the hair to grow faster. But IMHO, MTG did work to speed up my growth but, more importantly, it helped to thicken my hair! And the latter is a big deal for me, as ive always had naturally fine/thin hair.

Prior to using MTG, and currently, I get just under .5" per month. However when i was using MTG i was getting about 3/4", which is WONDERFUL for me. Some ladies get this on a regular basis using nothing.... but i never did. So yeah, MTG is a staple for me!

Hi Kiki,
I remember in another thread you said you where gona combine MTG and MN. Has that made any difference to your growth because my Mn doesn’t seem to be making a difference in comparison to my MTG alternative mix?

Also how often is often. 2 / 3times a week…everyday?

Temi, i think i only did that for like 1 week. I just stopped doing it because i was lazy. MTG is way easier to apply, because you can squeeze it out of the bottle. Application of M.N. requires too much work..... so that kinda fell off after a week.

Im sorry, i wish i had more to report about that.

:perplexed Mmm, I like the MN mix but MTG makes my braids look nasty after a while..

Yeah, i agree, the build-up can be ridiculous with braids, since its so easy to apply with them. But I tend to MTG the most when i have briads..... i also make sure to wash my scalp frequently, so that my scalp doesnt look all yellow and gross.

Ya i do to but my hair sticks after a while using MTG! drives me insane thats why I'm just using MN (I hope i get the same results) because MTG did wonders for my hair!

MTG MAKES MY HAIR SMELL LIKE SMOKE! and i dont even smoke..

Thanks Kinki Kakes. I'll prob start in a week or so. I need to buy the 32oz bottle.

Hey, kinikakes, i love your hair...it's drop dead gorgeous!! So, i got some MTG at home that i added cayenne pepper to to tweak up the benefits (it did nothing to cut down the smell which i wasn't really trying to do anyway) and i was wondering, how often do you use your MTG a week? I know you said you were consistent so how many times a week would u say u used it to get the amount of growth you had?

*off to stalk your album now* lol

Hey Yaki girl!

I have a question. Seeing how you live in quite a cold state as I do, what do you do in the winter with MTG? Because My hair is still damp or wet the next morning after the MTG application so I stopped using it in the winter months. Any suggestions?

I'm using my own sulfur mix and it's helping to thicken my edges.

Kini- girl, you're hair is slammin. Wanted to chime in here, sister.:D

Thats a good question. I dont really know what to say except that i dont change my MTG regimen at all in the winter. Since my hair grows slower in the winter months, its esp. important to continue the use of the MTG throughout this season.

I just make sure to put it in in the evening, so that its pretty much soaked in completely by the next day. So my hair isnt too damp or wet, more like oily if anything.

your hair is really nice kinkikakes... can i have some...

Hehehe! Aww, i would share if i could. I would rather have THICKNESS over length anyday, so im still trying to achieve that.

BUT the MTG and Biotin have done wonders!:D

I can't front KiniKakes. I've been admiring your hair for a while.
I wish I could get back on the MTG kick, but I can't. I've been using my own "MTG" mix of WGO & sulfur. I think it's working, but I won't really know for sure for a while.
Just wanted to give you a shout out !

TemiLnd,
I actually made a sulphur(active ingredient in MTG) and MN mix. I have been using it for less than a week. I apply it every night and in the mornings on my temple and nape.

KK,
Yeah! Your hair is ALLTHAT!

Kinkakes,

Your hair is beautiful and so are you, how much biotin did you take per day, and did you use the liquid mtg. or the conditioner, and how much
did use, I used it once and I think I might of used to much because I broke out around my neck, or maybe I'm allergic to, please advise!

I hope no one asked this already and I missed it, but how do you (KiniKakes) apply MTG...do you just use it straight?

Chayil

KK, your hair is so beautiful and so are you!!

I just can't stand the smell of MTG there is not enough products to hide or cover that awful smell.

Congratulations on your growth and thickness your hair is beautiful!!!

I love your hair so much! you're the reason i use MTG. I add a few drops of rosemary and peppermint, everyone says my hair smells like VICKS..lol but the smell goes away pretty quickly.. I wear braids and the MTG is giving me some good growth.
Do you put any MSM powder in your MTG? I was thinking about doing this but i don't know if anyone does.
