my head is spinning! i'm trying to get this hair stuff figured out. but everytime i read another post i find i'm missing something! can anyone tell me if i have it right? it looks like i need a moisturizing shampoo, a moisturizing conditioner, a deep conditioner, a protein conditioner, a reconstructor, a leave-in conditioner and a moisturizer.
i also am not too sure about the apple cider vinegar thing either. any and all help is appreciated!
LOL! Hey girl and welcome!!!! This is you (according to your post ----->
)
I don't know but I think that your moisturizing conditioner can be your deep conditioner or your protein conditioner may be your deep conditioner. It just depends on the conditioner I guess.
I'm still confuised on the reconstructor and the protein conditiioner--myself----so can't help you there.
thanks! i was hoping that this wasn't going to be too hard. every time i read a post i end up making another list of things to buy! Right now i'm doing the following:
i conditioner wash everyday with suave tropical coconut conditioner (not liking but i brought a huge bottle and i don't know what to do with it!)
i shampoo with creme of nature
i deep condition with lekair cholesterol mixed with olive oil and that seems to work ok
i don't have a leave-in yet but i was going to try l'oreal unfrizz stuff or clairol 5x
i use castor oil and coconut oil on my ends
i can't quite figure out what is doing what because every product is new to me. so this looks like it's gonna take a minute to figure out what works and what doesn't. thanks for your though
Welcome! As a new member, I understand! With all the information, it can be hard to keep track!
A moisturizing shampoo and conditioner are essential with relaxed hair.
The protein conditioner as far as I have read is good for use on a monthly basis, as needed if experiencing breakage, or during the first wash after a touchup to strengthen the hair.
The only reconstructor I have used is Nexxus Emergencee, so my experience is limited there.
Still looking for a good leave-in conditioner and for every day moisturizing, I am testing out Elasta QP Recovery. HTH.
i think that's my problem - the regimen. i'm extra stubborn so i won't quit until i get it right!
clairol 5x does have a cream leave in - i haven't bought it yet but i was eyeing it at wal-greens and might pick it up for a try.
the unfrizz is the one that i have seen a few people post about - l'oreal unfrizz smoothing treatment - i think it's a leave-in but i'm not too sure - i am definitely going to try this one.
i am definitely not using the suave coconut conditioner again once the bottle is done. so that's one down!
i wanna try the keracare humecto and s-curl this week. wish me luck.
ummmm i got a feeling that LUST is gonna be a keeper so don't think you should wait for any packages just yet! though i think i can swing a nice big bottle of "yummy" suave tropical coconut conditioner
that's another thing. what's the deal with sulfates? i'm guessing it's not good to have. i've never seen CoN but i will look for it.
i was reading a post about ACV and how it makes your hair soft. i just don't know if it's the last thing you should use or do you stick it somewhere in the middle?
ACV rinses were originally intended to be done as a final rinse but some people do it midway becasue they don't like the way it makes their hair feel after they have conditioned it. It CAN leave yor feeling soft if you use the right proprotions or HARD if yo se the wrong ones.
You'f have to play around with it. Have you done a search? There's a ton of info on it.
Sulfates---are supoosedly harsh and/or drying to the hair. I avoid them to be on the safe side.
Welcome, Storm. Like Daviine said, it takes a while and some patience to come up with a good regimen that works for you. Unfortunately, it can be expensive while you experiment with different products and routines. Listen to the advice you get on the board but know that products work differently for different heads of hair so you may not get the same results as somebody else.
welcoem to the board storm and miali hope u enjoy the tones of info available on the board
now about the protein conditioner and reconstructor i'm sure i was told its the same thing
or mayb i'm losin it
but i do kno that the CON and cholsterol are the best int he world!! i use these two produts and am in love wit them and am tryna encouperate soem protein in my regime even tho my hair dont lik prtein at all
Becoming a PJ is part of the territory until you find the routine that works best. Or if you are like many on this board, it's just fun to try something new!
Hopefully the things we decide to try will eventually result in healthier and beautiful hair! And that's the ultimate goal!
storm: i bought a bottle of suave as well and although it didn't do much for my hair, it does wonders for my legs!!!
shave with it, and get something better...
