Keratin Treatment

Ok I went the hairdresser yesturday and she put in a keratin treatment??? What is this and what does it do???

Keratin is the protein that makes up human hair. So, what you probably had was a protein treatment. I've gone to a hairdresser that used a Kerastase keratin treatment (called vita-ciment).

Thanks Ravenmerlita. I dont know what brand it was but I know it was like a conditioner. I normally get the DRC-28 after my relaxer but it was nothing like that. I didnt know shed used anything different until she said I used keratin in your hair. (I looked but it was in the cabinet but I didnt see the brand cause she knows I will buy it ) I know it was shiny and soft.

I love using Keratin for my protein treatments.

Joico K-Pak is my favorite. It has Human Hair Keratin (makes me wonder where they get it ).

Also, Pure Protein from Style One is Keratin protein (it used to be Collagen)

Girl Please, Please find out what it was because keratin protein is the best protein you can use on your hair. It actually penetrates all the way to the cortex. I would love to know what she used.

Keratin is a good thing to use for strength and to curtail breakage but next time it would probably be a good thing to ask her to inform you what and why she is going to use before she starts doing whatever without your consent; next time may be a scissor!!.

No she wont cut my hair unless I tell her to. But she will make it as healthy as she can. Shes natural and I go to her b/c I tend to damage my hair w/ dye she always brings it back. So since I joined this board I said I should go to someone that cares about my hair as much as I do. She put it on b/c I just took micros out and its thinned out my hair, so she used it to start me on my journey!!

Ok I just spoke w/ her she said you can get it from Sally's. (I'm in Cincinnati) But its by APHOGHEE but its not the one that makes your hair super hard.
