Hey ya'll!

I'm tryin to decide whether I should up my Keraphix use from every other week to every week, especially now that I'm 15 weeks post and I've got about 6 or 7 weeks to go.

Who uses Keraphix every week with success?
If you don't use it every week, why or why not?
Does your hair like protein?

Help me out, please :look:

Hey  I have recently increased my usage of Keraphix and ever since I clarified/chelated it has only been getting better! I've used it 2 weeks straight so far and I have not noticed anything bad. I want to use it every week until the week before my relaxer which will be in about 2-3 weeks. I'm doing this b/c with the MTG, my hair looks and feels as if I've been stretching for so much longer. So to reduce any chance of breakage, I'm using the Keraphix. And boy do i love my Keraphix! :D

Who uses Keraphix every week with success? I haven't used it every week consistantly, but I may start to. I have encorporated it into my regimen along w/the botanoil Poo the last 2wks before relaxer day and the first week after.
If you don't use it every week, why or why not? Not really a reason, I just threw it in w/the regimen somewhere. LOL
Does your hair like protein? I believe my hair does and actually I think maybe my hair can take a little more, so maybe I should use the Keraphix at least once out of my 2dys a wk poo routine, I receive so much moisture I believe more protein is needed for a balance.

*** Maybe I'll start using Keraphix on Thursdays, of course following up w/a DC either my 10 en 1 mix, or the Capilo Sole & Cinnamin up until 10wks post I start to use Silicone Mix as a DC. I'll watch the progress and keep you posted.

I haven't used it consistenly every week either. I mix it with humectress and sometimes, I'll do it 3 weeks on and 1 week with just a moisturizing conditioner, but I think I get the best results when I use it every other week.

I use it every week. My hair loves it.

It is such a mild protein that I don't worry about having protein overload. It keeps me from having to do the major protein treatment. I make sure to follow up with a light moisturizing conditioner for a few minutes after using the Keraphix. My hair always comes out so soft!!

Who uses Keraphix every week with success? I can't say that I use this every week, maybe every two or three weeks.

If you don't use it every week, why or why not?I have alot of protein treatments, so I kind of juggle them all.

Does your hair like protein? Now that I have been using protein on a regular basis, I realize that my hair has been able to regain growth much better. I definitely think that my hair is getting stronger due to the protein that I use.

Keraphix is a good one to have, it seems like I don't have to over moisturize when I use it. Lots of protein treatments will dry my hair out afterward or make it stiff, Keraphix doesn't do this. Once I use all of my other protein treatments, I will probably go ahead and buy another bottle of keraphix and use it weekly.

Who uses Keraphix every week with success? I used to use keraphix every single week but now I do it every other week...

If you don't use it every week, why or why not? I was just too lazy:ohwell:

Does your hair like protein? My hair loves protein...I guess maybe b/c i'm relaxed...but when i'm seeing excessive shedding or breakage... I would apply some keraphix to my hair and the shedding and breakage stops completely.

Earlier this year I used Keraphix consistently for about 3-4 months. I loved the way it worked on my hair. Eventually I ventured out and used other products. I am going back to using Keraphix and the other Nexxus products like Humectress, Botanoil Shampoo, Botanic Oil, and Aloxxi Color Infusing Conditioner. I believe Nexxus left my hair in the healthiest state ever.

I used it weekly before Humectress on my shampoo/condition days with heat under a hooded dryer...although it worked great in the shower with a plastic cap and towel too.

My hair doesn't particularly like protein, but for some reason Keraphix had just the right combination of protein and moisture so it was acceptable. I also made sure to follow with Humectress, which gave superb results. When I used Keraphix, I added a little Botanic Oil or EVOO to the dollop of conditioner before I applied it to my hair...I did the same with Humectress.

jewell thanks for posting this! I have some samples of everything you mentioned except the botanic oil & poo. I will def. be trying this soon!:)

I'm 9 weeks post and not relaxing for at least another 32 days which is a lil over a month, bringin meto 13 weeks,my longest with my hair out.I had some breakage b4, but i used profective ends and it helped, but I'd like to use keraphix now for the next 3 weeks to bring me safely to a week right b4 relaxing. Off to get keraphix tomorrow!

Hey ladies! I'm newly relaxed, and I have been reading posts about the Nexxus Keraphix...I bought a 5 fl oz size today at CVS and was wondering if I should use it as a second conditioner? As I was reading posts in this thread, I saw some who say they follow up with another conditioner after using the keraphix. What kind of conditioner do you guys follow up with? Is it a protein conditioner or like a moisturizing conditioner? Just to give you an example, I currently have the NTM hair mask and the Kenra MC....which order should I use the keraphix with one of those moisturzers??!?!?

Thanx in advance!!

:bouncy:

I need a response soon because I'm going to get my hair done Saturday morning, and I'm planning to CW my hair before going.. :look:

I've always used keraphix before the moisturising conditioner. Some people use them together with good results though.

i mix my keraphix with humectress and use it every week....my hair loves protein :) i have been doing so since april

this is only my 3rd week using keraphix and i'm almost 6mos post relaxer and so far my hair likes it, i follow up w/ 10 en 1 for a half an hr w/o heat i think its a gentler protein condtioner than aphogee 2min keratin reconstructor. HTH

Well today I decided to try Keraphix under the drier for 20 min, but 2 hours before using it I mixed it w/a dollop of Elasta QP breakage serum and a tablespoon of honey and 1/2 a cup of EVOO, I loved it not a strand yet. I followed w/ some left over Hollywood Beauty Carrot Oil Cholesterol I was trying to finish up, so far I like it. I will be doing this every 2 week for now on, but will be following w/my staple 10 en 1. ;)

i mixed it with keracare humecto today for a dry c/w, meaning is mixed the two and applied them to dry hair since i've read your hair absorbs better that way.
just had my touchup yesterday and hair was a little too straight.
humecto/keraphix felt good to me after sitting under the dryer for about 15.
may continue this the rest of the month.

i keep stumbling upon so many new ideas from this site, i have a hard time sticking to a regimine. BUT SERIOUSLY, i wanna do humecto/keraphix on dry hair c/ws the rest of the year if i can. then i'll only shampoo when i do protein treatments or get a touchup.

Thanks ladies for your responses!!!

I'm sitting at my computer right now with Suela & Canela (cinnamon) conditioner in my hair...and I'm loving the smell and tingle! I plan to rinse it out tomorrow morning, and put the keraphix in my hair for at least 15-20 minutes before I go out to get it done. I'll rinse it out and follow up with Kenra MC, put on my plastic cap and go to the dominicans to get it done

I've been using Keraphix all along, followed by Humectress but I need to remind myself to use it more often. My hair loves it! I have to write it down on my calendar "Keraphix Day" so I can remember to do it at least every other week. I always remember to do it the wash day before relaxing so my hair is extra strong.

What I actually did was sleep with the Suela & Canela in my hair overnight; woke up and rinsed it out; applied the Keraphix first- then added Suave Humectant on top of it and put on a plastic cap for 30 minutes; rinsed that out and applied the Kenra MC, put back on the plastic cap and went to get my hair done. My hair came out really moisturized and shiny!

This will be my routine weekly-I'll shampoo once a month (clarify) and CW weekly before going to the salon.
