So, I tried the MC. Good stuff. Prior to that, I had tried the IET and it was also good. I've come to rely on the MC pretty heavily and I still use the IET occasionally but I was browsing the local BS today and saw their color maintenance conditioner with silk protein. So of course, being the public roduct advocate that I am, I purchased some. I planned to use it as a mild protein treatment.
But I was expecting the MC all over again....just because well....it's the same line.

Well was I pleasantly suprised!

The conditioner is a completely different consistency than the MC and the KIE - runnier than both but still substantial - not too watery. Applying it, it felt very creamy and spread well. It smells staight up like candy. It also gave the hair that coated feeling like mild protein's do - like you've applied a coat of shellack to your hair...in a good way. It felt stronger. It also has fabulous ingredients - Olive Oil, Panthenol, Hydrolyzed Silk Protein.

It's still in, and I'll update when I see the dry results but for now I REALLY like it. It's about and 8 out of 10. I'm still going to use the MC as a leave in, rinse out, and deep mois. cond, but the CM Cond is most likely a keeper.

if for no other reason than it SMELLS fantastic.

I am REALLY curious about the shampoos now. I noticed none of them have SLS.

Wow... that sounds really good!!

You're making me wish I had mix 'n matched my "Buy 1 Liter Get 1 free" at Trade Secret a couple of weeks ago.. I could have gotten one of each...

I wonder if I could take it back and exchange it...

Those 2 liters of the MC would probably last me for years anyway!! I'd rather have the variety!!

I'm trying to decide what type of moisturizing conditioner to buy since I dont have one...

How much does Kenra MC cost???

Kenra is off the hook! I bought the litre size color maintenance conditioner months ago and I like it alot also. Although, I must admit, I haven't used it much (so much other stuff), but I was very impressed.

Well I'm impressed too Aqt (I should have known you had this one!

)....

I like the conditioner a lot. What I like most about it is that it is NOT Kenra MC all over again so I really have two very good but very different conditioners from the same line, both salon quality with excellent ingredients.

Rinsing the Kenra CMC from my hair was very similar to the way one's hair feels after any mild reconstructor. It was soft, very smooth feeling, but not with a lot of slip. I used a dollop of the MC afterwards to detangle all the way.

My hair was very easy to braid - one of the ways I judge a good protein conditioner is by how easily I can braid my hair into one braid after I use it. If it's good, my hair will separate into sections easily, and the hair won't feel too rubbery or rubberbandy (boy I'm just making lots of sense here LOL!). Instead it feels like it has a lot of tensile strength. This is how my hair felt after the Color Maintenance Cond.

My rating stands at 8 out of 10. I think I still like Dudleys better, but mild proteins need a few run throughs before you can judge the important most factor - how much they strenghthen and rebuild the hair.

Overall I like it alot.

Thanks for the review, Tracy.

I'm still debating on whether I should trade my MC Liter in... I'll have to go in and give it the sniff test... if it smells as yummy as you say, that's all it'll take for me!!
laugh.gif

Well make sure you put the liter of MC in the car girl...because if all it's gonna take is the sniff test you might as well have that exchange ready. You're not going to want to leave that conditioner in the store.....

No problem. I think this product is only sold at salons, I have yet to see it at any beauty supply stores.

I love Kenra MC and IET. The MC reminds me of a product that was used by the first hair stylist I ever went to when I was in high school. I just can't put my finger on it yet.

Alright well since we're talking about products that smell good and since Kenra is winning you over one product at a time--you must try the Kenra Silkening Gloss
smile.gif
You will LOVE the smell so much--you'll have to stop yourself from licking the product.

Now ya KNOW I will! Thats the new platinum line, yes....

Bet its not better then NTM tho...

Nah it's not--but it's worth it just for the smell. I promise. In fact, you should go to the store with the intent to only smell it and we'll just see if you don't end up leaving with one.

I have used the Kenra Moisturizing Shampoo and Conditioner since August 2003. I cannot say enough good things about these products!
