and I am lovin it! I was applying it only to my scalp before I washed, but now I am using it as an overnight treatment. I add castor oil and honey to it, put on plastic cap, satin cap and retire for the evening. In the morning I noticed that my hair is very moisturised, but what has really got my attention is that I shed very little hair which I really like. I also noticed that my hair is very smooth, has very little frizz, it's also easy to detangle, and very soft. I am loving, this product. I made a moisturising spray with aloe vera juice, i am going to make a herbal mix with oil and then adding aloe vera gel to it to apply to my scalp. Who would have known that this product would be so savvy. Also when i did my last touchup (end of January) I noticed more hairgrowth. Could it be the aloe vera? I stretched for 1 year and did not notice that much growth, but in a short 3 months I noticed growth. The only thing that I added to my regime was the aloe vera gel. This product is on my list of staples.

Thank you so much for this. I have a big bottle of Aloe Vera that is just sitting in my cabinet and I don't have any use for it. Now I can use it as a prepoo. And then y'all say it contributes to growth?...shoooo. Definitely going to use this my next wash.

i use this stuff all the time on my edges and as a moisturizer (with a few drops of grapeseed oil) after i wash my face, but i had no idea it has been used to grow hair or as a pre-poo. i may try that. thanks!

I don't run out of Aloe vera gel. Most of the 'most raved' products around the board - contain it.

I use coconut oil aloe and wheat germ oil... my shed buster. =) I have posted about this quite a bit, but.... people have to see the results for themselves.
glad you love it!

That's the purpose for this forum, to share. I just couldn't believe how long my hair appeared. Like I said, after a 1 year stretch I was expecting more growth, but within 3 months I was shocked. Anyhow, I am loving, loving, loving this stuff. Keep us posted how you like it.

I remember you talking about aloe vera, it just didn't register with me. Now, I feel like I can't get enough of this aloe vera.

I never knew you could use it as a prepoo either. But now I use aloe vera gel for my prepoo's that I do twice a week.

This is some information I found about aloe vera:

Hair benefits
The aloe gel is a great ointment for promoting hair growth because it maintains the pH balance of your hair cells. This allows hair to grow healthier and more robust. Applying it to your hair can also moisturize the ends, preventing split ends.

Overnight Treatment
For superb hydration, leave aloe vera juice in your hair overnight. You can mix it with cold-pressed oils such as olive or avocado for extra conditioning. Wet your hair with the mixture, put your hair in a shower cap, and drift off to sleep. In the morning, rinse well (if you used pure juice) or shampoo and condition (if you added oils).

Aloe Vera on the scalp is known to GROW, GROW, GROW your hair. I use it too, glad you like it.

I am loving it. I wonder if it promotes hair growth because it balances the PH on your scalp and repairs any damage you may have on your scalp. I don't know, but this I do know, I will continue to use aloe vera on my hair and scalp.

Hey Lucky--the mixture in bold, do you use this on scalp, or apply to the length also? And when do you use it -- pre-poo? TIA

I have a giant bottle of Aloe Vera Juice that I haven't opened yet. I will DEFINITELY be trying this tonight!!!

BTW, what's better for the hair - aloe vera juice? or Gel?

I don't really know, but I like the substance of the gel. It's thick and you can easily apply to length of hair.

I have always used the 100% gel from Fruit of the Earth, found at Walmart. I love it, it's a staple of mine.

well I really really like the gel the best. But I use both. The brand I use is the whole foods brand.

They both have great hair benefits, but I think they serve different purposes. I use aloe vera gel added to castor oil, and glycerin as a moisturizer, because I get the benefits of aloe, plus some hold from the gel, which my hair loves. The gel can also be used alone as a hair gel.

I use aloe juice as a spray in pure form or with glycerin added. Aloe juice is simply the juice without the other ingredients necessary to make aloe gel a gelatinous substance, mine is also preservative free. I find the juice to be very moisturizing, while aloe gel alone is not so moisturizing for my hair.

I also add aloe juice to butters and oil (and sometimes glycerin when it's extremely dry) for a rich skin cream.

I love me some aloe!

I use both... all the time.

and - to be clear.... I use food grade aloe. The stuff on the shelves at CVS, etc.... is the same as IC fantasia, etc.....

Why oh WHY did I come in this thread? And just when I thought I had my regimen on lock.

But tell me ladies...does aloe gel/juice work well on relaxed hair as a pre-poo? Leave in moisturizer?

I LOOOOOOVE my 100% AVJ.

I started using it during my first stretch last year, it has become a staple in my regimine as well. I add it to my DC's, to my Ayurvedic Oil mixtures, and I keep some in an applicator bottle and apply it directly to my scalp alone....

I also take a shot of it every now and then.

I use Georges Distilled 100% AVJ, I purchase mine from Vitamin Shoppe
