Just out of curiousity, how often do YOU comb your hair?

currently wearing an air dried bun and have been since sunday. i have not combed my hair... i only smooth the edges with a boar bristle brush to keep the fly aways down.

when wearing it straight, i may comb once a day or every other day depending on the style. i try to finger comb most of the time but i'm also not about to let my hair become a tangled mess either. i use seamless combs.

When I'm wearing it straight, probably at least twice a day - in the morning and at night.

When it's natural, only when I wash or co-wash which may be once or twice a week.

I actually want myself to comb it daily, because past 12 weeks post my hair gets tangled if I leave it alone too long, but I'm so lazy.

On wash days, which means once or twice a week.

used to be once a week but now maybe 3 times a week coz i'm 16 months post and find if i dont comb (especially if i co wash) i get massive tangles and shrinkage. also use denman to smooth edges.

:spinning: I comb once a week with conditioner. Section by section, I finger comb very thoroughly then I run through with a very wide tooth comb to smooth strands.

Most of the time I wash and go, and that means that junk never gets combed! lol But when I style it (coils or twists) it gets combed (with lots lots lots of cantu and suave) just because I usually style it to get the ends stretched...I style every two weeks or so. Sometimes more than that...I don't like combing.

I'm glad you asked this question. I was wondering if I comb too much. When I'm natural - like a twist out or wash and go - I only comb to twist. When I'm straight, I comb in the morning once my moisturizer has absorbed.

I swipe with the comb, then look at the hairs in the comb, swipe, look at the hairs in the comb. If they are long with the bulb, I swipe a few more times. If they are short - broken hairs - I moan inside my heart.:nono:

It depends really on the style.

Braids or twists only when I wash about every 7-10 days.

Any braid/twist out or puff style - fingercomb at night or if I notice a tangle coming on. I'll spritz hair with water mix then break out the wide-tooth comb to follow up and make sure the tangle is gone.

Loose straightened hair or rollerset hair - twice a day but use fingers throughout the day if I feel something trying to tangle up.

I comb my hair twice a week, when I wash. otherwise, when wearing a straight style, I usually finger comb the back, while tidying up the front with a comb.

i find that low mani and not combing my hair too often helps minimize breakage...however there is a fine line between combing too much, and not combing enough, b/c toward the time when I'm getting my relaxer, I often get tangles...

I comb my hair only when it's soaking wet so that's once a week when I wash it. I'm natural and I wet my hair almost every day (style with my hands) but I only use a comb when it's saturated.

I am relaxed presently transitioning. Since joining LHCF last year I don't even own a comb!:lachen: I finger comb daily and detangle with a wide tooth pic in the shower as I rinse the conditioner out.

daily.. I don't play that.. I follow the way I was raised rules over the LHCF ones on that account.. even I got a bun.. I take it down and redo it..jeez..
