Hey Ladies,
I just got highlights can you all give me a little advice on how to upkeep them so my hair does not fall out. Any advice is welcomed.
Thank You!!

I have highlights, use a gentle shampoo like L'oreal's color-vive or CON, use a moisturizing conditioner and try to avoid direct heat and use very little indirect heat. Make sure you protect your hair at night and perhaps try using Sebastian's cellophane in clear. I used it based on Tracy's suggestion and it lasted a few weeks protecting my hair and giving it a nice shine. Also with highlights I would recommend getting your hair trimmed very lightly 1 or 2x a year, I noticed my hair is prone to more split ends when I have split ends.

All of the previous advice was stellar. I just wanted to add two things...

Add a mild protein conditioner (aka reconstructor) to your regime. Use it once weekly or every two weeks to keep the highlighted hair strong. Also, you might want to start using a touch of oil on dry hair before you comb it. Something nice and light like Kemi Oyl will help lubricate the hair and minimize breakage.
You only need a dab.

Question? How do you dry your hair? and How often should I relax my hair with highlights?
I am noticing that since taking biotin my relaxers are not lasting long and my new growth is thicker. Do you have any remedies for that?
Thanks and any comments are welcome.
Thank you all for the advice it has come quite helpful.
Tracy what is the name of the shampoo and conditioner you recommend?
Thank You!!!!!!!

Sorry Emerald sky I did not see that you recommend the Loreal shampoo and conditioner. I will put in on a 30 day test to see how I like it. I am currently using Nexxus Botanoil Shampoo. Aphogee reconstructor Keratin- not to sure of the name but you know. For a conditioner it depends on what my hair is asking for. CPR to Pantene Sleek and Smooth and a moisturizing conditioner and sometimes the Hummecctess from Nexxus.
