I feel like crying right about now. My hair is shedding like crazy. I just washed my hair, and it was coming out left and right. I wraped it...when I comed it down it was shedding even more. I can run my fingers through my hair and it comes out with strands. I stoped using all that protein every other week and deep deep conditioned my hair the last two weeks as I usually do. I don't know what it is. WTF. I am scared to even touch my hair.

Do you know what may be causing the shedding?
Is it hormonal e.g. Post partum shedding, medication, stress?

Ok...if you stopped the protein, are you using moisturizing conditioners, like Humectress? When is the last time you relaxed?

I'm just trying to figure out what you may need to do.

Yes, I was thinking stress....and could it be due to the summer shed?
The changing of the seasons???

Ive been having this same problem. Although, my hair is growing its shedding like crazy. Does the changing of the seasons really cause hair shedding?? but it could also be stress as well.

My last relaxer was about 31/2 to 4 weeks ago. I take my vitamins...been slacking though. msm, biotin, alfalfa

I was taking CLA..but I stopped.

I have been using keracare humecto to deep condition...this week I mixed with NTM. I was thnking that it could be stress from my math class...but I am not sure. I have been wound up since it started. I have no clue what to do.

YES, it does. I shed so much starting in late spring that you could knit a sweater from my hair

bmm, stress can wreck havoc on your body, not to mention your hair, specifically. I KNOW this won't be easy, but try everything you can to destress and relax. Also, make sure that you are drinking enough water, especially now...during the summer months.

Have you changed anything else in your diet, other than to stop taking CLA?

Try upping your B-complex Vit... they are good for stress:)
I shed a lot also, 3 weeks after my relaxer, until I get my touch up at 6 weeks...
It is scarry... just do CW's and moisture, moisture, moisture....

Yeah same here. My hair has been shedding a lot lately too. I thought with extra moisturizing, and wearing it in a bun this week that would solve the problem (that's what usually works), but I'm still seeing some shedding. I'm about to braid it up and call it a day. :ohwell:

The only thing that I have changed is that I take digestive enzymes now..I just put my hair up in a bun, and I will leave it that way until my next wash day.

I am trying not to stess but sometimes it is hard to tell when you are stressed...well it is hard for me to tell, unless my shoulders start hurting. I am just scared. I don't want to have to cut my hair off ( I cant believe I actually dont want to cut) um, I dont know I will just see what happens.

Thanks ladies. I will keep you posted.

:lachen: :lachen: :lachen: thanks for making me crack a smile. I needed that.

Nope I don't mind... it's pretty good and it helped my hair. I don't use it anymore. I got some deep conditioner from Design Essentials that I like alot better. More expensive though :ohwell:

One of the only things that's been working for me to lessen the shedding has been leave ins (fructis long and strong, neutrogena triple moisture leave in, and some I made myself from MNT conditioner, olive oil and water). The last works wonders... I spray some in every day and I've seen a big difference. I got discouraged at one point because I'm achieving growth with MTG but it was breaking. Now it's looking pretty good. Dudley's DRC? and Essations were the two that my stylist used on my hair. Really helped with the shedding. It made a big difference.

I do believe that I used this before... I was not sure until Mona, Mentioned The twigs and berries...Reminds me of coming to america.

When the barber asked Eddie Murphy what he had in his hair, his response was "Just just juices and berries"

Ok I just used this last night  and washing it out is a pain because that stuff stick to your hair. It does smell good though. I read about using this in a hair magazine awhile back and it worked before with reducing my shedding but its not working now  Im losing hair left and right.

:lachen: :lachen: I don't mind. I do a pretty good job at getting it all out. I'll keep using it as long as it works
