Does anyone know if they changed there formulation...I don't remember seeing mineral oil on the old package or at least not so high up...Can anyone shed some light on this...I did e-mail the company today...so, if no one else knows, I'll definitely post whatever they e-mail me back...Thanks for your investigative work in advance....

They did change their products recently. Well they said that packaging changed, but they totally discontinued one of my favorites. It makes me wonder. :ohwell:

Here are the ingredients from drugstore.com. I don't see any mineral oil:confused:

Mary, I just checked my 5.2oz tube of the reconstructor that I bought about 3-4 months ago and the 3rd ingredient is mineral oil. I never noticed it before. I bought it on sale at Trade Secrets because they told me they were changing up the packaging. The ingredients on here go:

Deionized Water (Aqua), Stearamidopropyl Dimethylamine, Mineral Oil, Glycol Stearate, PEG-8 Distearate, Sodium Chloride, Ceteth-2, Hydrolyzed Human Hair Keratin (Triamine Complex) Laurdimonium Hydroxypropyl Hydrolyzed Human Hair Keratin (Cationic Triamine Complex), Myristyl Myristate, Citric Acid, Fragrance (Parfum), Sorbic Acid, Cetyl Alcohol, Stearyl Alcohol, Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower) Oil, Hydrolyzed Yeast, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Keratin Amino Acids, Methylparaben, Propylparaben.

So maybe the new one does not have Mineral oil.

They never advertised that they were changing the product, only the packaging. Which goes to show that these companies do change the formulation.

My thoughts exactly! I even asked the woman at Trade Secrets if the formulation was going to change and she said no, just the packaging. I remember a while back at JC Penny's they had all of the Nexxus stuff on sale so I was grabbing stuff and one of the stylist there had to nerve to tell me that the reason why everything was dirt cheap is because Nexxus is changing their packaging. I already knew that wasn't true but dang, why lie???

Thanks for your post Nelli711...Yes the old bottle of K-Pak Reconstructor didn't have mineral oil but the new darker bottle has mineral oil & your ingredients posted earlier are the new ingredients....What a trip...these companies are a trip....

What does mineral oil do again with the hair? I used this product in the past 6 months and still have the shampoo left.

This is what the company e-mailed me back...This is not true because as you can see the two different ingredient lists posted...sigh...Oh well, I did use it the other day...still works pretty good...I'm not sure about why mineral oil is not that great in products, but I know it's not...Can someone explain why again? Thanks in advance...
