Are they about the same strength of protein or is one stronger than the other?

Is one better than the other? If so, which one do you prefer?

i've used both, and i think emergency is a lot stronger than Joico is, i would say emergency is definately stronger

I have recently started using both with amazing results!

I use Joico K-Pak faithfully every Monday and Moisture Recovery on Wednesdays and Fridays.

I then use Nexxus Emergencee every two weeks rinse, apply the Joico K-Pak Conditioner (not the Reconstructor) and then apply the Joico daily conditioner (recent).

MY HAIR HAS NEVER FELT OR LOOKED BETTER!

I hope that helps.

I use them both as well. I use Nexxus Emergencee a week before I Self-Relax w/heat for about 10 minutes No plastic Cap.

I use the Joico K-Pak after rinsing out the Relaxer before Neutralizing. And I use it a week after the relaxing process. The K-Pak is my "Go To" Reconstructor.

Overall, I feel Emergencee is the 'Stronger Protein' Product of the two.:yep:

Thank you ladies. I can't wait to start using my Joico products; however, I don't want to give up Emergencee even though I only use it before my relaxers or when I feel my hair is in desperate need of protein.

My hair does not like a lot of protein; however, it can't be completely omitted either.:nono:

With that said, I probably can't use Joico K-pak as often as I would like and will probably have to stick with AO GPB for my weekly protein fix.

Love emergencee!!! I apply it and sit under the dryer with it and let it get hard like aphogee then rinse.. Makes my hair feel good and strong!!! I love joico too, especially the intense hydrator and the treatment balm!!!

I use and love them both. Im not sure if Emergencee is necessarily stronger, it's a polymeric reconstructor whereas joico is a protein recontstructor!

What's polymeric?

Polymeric treatments such as Emergencee actually wrap the hair strand with fibers to help keep it protected and strong, as opposed to protein treatments that penetrate the hair and fill in “gaps” on the hair strand. For my fine, thin hair using both a polymeric and a protein reconstructor is best!

I prefer Joico...I tried Emergencee twice and let it get hard under the dryer, etc...it didnt do anything to stop my breakage. However, I saw improvements with Joico.

I believe I saw these polymers...when I was spreading Emergencee, it was almost like there were gooey threads of the substance stretching from my hair to my hand...Hard to describe, but hopefully you know what I mean, lol

Great Explanation Charm!:yep: I Use them both as well.

I've recently added a Weekly Light/Med Reconstructor into my Fall/Winter Regimen (followed up with a Moisturizing Conditioning Treatment) and I can definitely see the Benefits of Stronger Hair.

I usually use Nexxus Emergencee a Week before Relaxing and the Joico K-Pak (*or similar) during the Mid Protein Step prior to Neutralizing

Bumping again...

So would the Joico K-pak be too strong to use weekly?

I use it weekly in the shower and have not had any adverse results...if anything my hair has thrived...I do interchange with Aphogee 2 minute (trying to use them both up)

Thanks! Why are you trying to use them both up? Did you find a different (better) reconstructor? :look::lachen:

You know what...I thought about that after I typed it...:lachen:...Just trying to narrow down "tha' stash"....once I use them both up - then I will go ahead and use up my Tigi Dumb Blonde and I will be through with the reconstructors and will purchase just one ....(there is a method to my madness)

Also as taboo as it may be...I am actually following the directions on the bottle...(that jumping in and out the shower is a pain)...even with the Emergencee...I left it in for a minute or two followed up with a moisturizer (all while in the shower) and my hair came out great...

Okay just one more question please :lachen:

Is the Tigi Dumb Blonde reconstructor better than the Joico and Aphogee, in your opinion?

Also, which "one" reconstructor are you planning to purchase? :look:

 for all the questions. A sista needs to know.

Hmmm...I haven't decided yet...with regard to Tigi..I love it!!! I would say that it is comparable to Joico...it's especially good as a mid-step treatment after relaxing...

Bumping! And squzbly1908 did you ever decide which "one" reconstructor you're going to purchase?

Thanks IDTH...I would have probably missed ur question ESQ.2B...

Well...I am still undecided...Thanks to IDTH, I have revisited Redken Rescue Force again...I used to go hard for this one about 4-5 years ago and for the life of me I cannot remember why I stopped using it...

I will probably not purchase K-Pak again - nothing against it - I feel like Aphogee and Tigi better for my hair....

Since I have been using the Baba De Caracol Hair Treament (pre-shampoo treatment) I am not using my "recons"as much but I will not be giving them up.....

OT...Esq...did u cut your hair into a bob?

The Rescue Force contains the Ceramides...so that makes it a definite WIN!

I have the Baba De Caracoal as well (I think the Hair Loss One). Haven't used it yet and not sure how I will use it. I thought about using it as a DC Treatment.

Yes....I have a weakness for Good Reconstructors.:lovedrool:

I know, right....Do you have the BDC with the orange top - if so then that one is to be used before shampooing...the green top is for after...

I am trying to decide if I will be using the Rescue Force or the BDC for my mid-step....I am so torn...

I will definitely be using the L'occitane after neutralizing...I don't know what it is about that condish but it makes my hair feel incredible and with alot of body..

re: BDC -- I have one of each.:look: Thanks for the Tip!

Glad you Love the L'Occitane. It's the Creme de la Creme!:yep:

Yeah, it's fun picking out something for that Mid-Step. I've used the K-Pak, Redken Deep Fuel, Sebastian Penetraitt, Nexxus Keraphix.......I just love reconstructors.:lick:

Another poster on the board sent me some Hayashi 911, but I haven't tried that one out yet.:look:

A integral part of my weekly Regimen is to apply a reconstructor of some sort.:yep:

Thanks for responding! No I didn't cut it. I'm still in between APL and BSL. The front (swoop) part of my hair is shorter than the back though so it appears that way in the pic. I hate that :yep:. :lachen:

NP

I was concentrating on your hair and did not see where ur face was in the pic (trippin') - I see now...it looks like a full and pretty bob...

Seems like I need this Emergencee in my life as well *sighs* I want my fine hair strands wrapped in fiber too!
