I ordered the replacement for it but I can't get the top off. Is the filter portion just screw off?

I have a different kind of filter (handheld shower-head filter), so I'm not sure but it looks like the Pur faucet filter replacement and mine opens with a twist. (Aren't there directions?) I honestly don't know what I'm talmbout so just bumping this for you. 
I'd call the customer service number if one's on the packaging.

Thanks for replying. Yeah I tried twisting but it refuses to move..it is so tight!
