I washed and blow dried my hair last night. Will remember to wash my hair so late in the evening because the water ran ice cold when rinsing out the conditioner.

I prefer to detangle my hair saturated in conditioner while in the shower, so I have been looking for a detangling tool to help with that. Wide tooth combs sometimes drag pulling too much; the Denman brush needs to be taken apart to properly air dry, plus, it maybe pulling too much on my hair even if i don't feel it as well as with the combs; and I'm not going to finger detangle my hair because that would take forever.

I tried the FHI UNbrush last night and it seemed pretty gentle on my hair. I especially like that it has holes in the design which make it super easy to rinse. I'm looking to maybe getting the mini version as well. Will see how I feel about this brush after a few more uses.

Shampoo: Shea Moisture Raw Shea Butter Moisture Retention Shampoo (2x)
Conditioner: Shea Moisture Raw Shea Butter Moisture Retention Conditioner
Heat protectant: Design Essentials Natural Agave & Lavender Thermal Protectant Serum
Blow dryer: Pattern Beauty blow dryer with wide tooth comb attachment
Moisturizer: TGIN Butter Cream Daily Moisturiser (my hair seems to really like this stuff)

just came back from the salon. I got a blowout and trim all for a discounted price for $35! I tried out a new salon today and it was more affordable and she did a much better job than I thought. The original price was $60 but she has specials going on for the month of january. My next appointment is on the 28th.

i loved that it only took her an hour to do my hair! i've never been in and out getting my hair pressed that quick. I was shocked. We had a discussion about my hair goals (i want BSL healthy hair ) and what products I use at home. I told her that I normally get braids and only get my hair pressed once a year.
She said my ends were starting to split up the shaft but that my hair was overall healthy and she didn't notice any holes in my hair or anything alarming.
I have a stress spot in my hair due to a claw clip but she assured me the hair would grow back in no time so that's all good. She told me to get my trims every 2 months so in march i'll get my next trim. I'll be doing steam treatments as well. I do twistouts in between visits

I told her I started working out and I was taking swim lessons every thursday until feb 27th.
I plan on going to the salon maybe every two weeks for a blowout and treatment
