I like JCNS. I love the smell like fresh lemon meringue pie! I use it on my hair as a sealer sometimes on top of a water-based moisterizer like S-Curl or Taliah Waajid's Protectiver Mist Bodifier. I learned that you have to have to use a VERY light hand with JCNS or else it will quickly make your hair feel like a greasy clump. I mainly like to use it on my skin also the light sugary fragrance lasts all day. Got rude people getting all close wondering what smells so nice?

Got a 20% off coupon from Vitamin Shoppe yesterday and went straight there and bought both this and the JC leave in. If these compare in anyway to my beloved Shecentit Guliian Butter and Coco Creme leave In I will be in heaven.

Hmm, what do the acronyms stand for?? What are the ingredients for Janes Nourish & Shine. I like to know what I'm getting myself into. Someone said it's mostly shea butter. What else!? Thanks

Ingredients: Shea, illipe, mango, kokum butters, grapefruit and pear essential oils, vitamins A, D, and E.

I have the poo, NS, and the cream. Not sure how to use the cream and NS together or if you should. The smell is heavenly~

I have the cream & I usually seal it w/ KBB hair oil b/c the oil is very light. Off the top of my head, I'd say that they shouldn't be used together. If you do use them together, though, I'd imagine that only a SMALL amount of the NS would be needed (I have the NS, but I've never used it. I know that its consistency is quite heavy, though.).

I'm using this and will be reviewing it next week. This month I'm focusing on her line and I love this too. It's great! I use it for styling dry hair and for sealing damp hair. I also use it for blow drying or flat-ironing. It's fab and my hair HATES butters!

Please let us know how you use it for blow-drying & flat-ironing. I'm very curious about that.

I love the JC leave-in. I am never without it. I plan on using the JC leave-in + the NS for my summer twist-outs.

My hair absolutely adores JC Nourish and Shine. :lick: I've tried her other products and wasn't impressed, but this one is a keeper. I just wish it weren't so expensive.

I have tried a LOT of moisturizers, and apart from pure shea butter, nothing else compares for me. I apply all of my products on wet hair 99% of the time.

Oh, and let me find out that my Target is selling this!! :shopping:

I love this stuff...I forget who here recommend to me but I would love to thank her because this stuff is awesome! It works best for me on soaking wet hair that is then banded for a couple days...my hair is soft moisturized and does not poof! My only thing is like when I was using pure palm butter, it's a process to wash out I have to load my hair with cheapie suave conditioner then layer amla oil on top and detangle that way and it has to be in that order....found that out the hard way....but yeah nourish and shine rocks and actually so does the wrap n roll from jane carter also

I got some of this for $10 at the hair show in atl as well as some of the scalp serum. so far I like it. I'm 4b, been transitioning for almost 8 months and wear my hair flat ironed straight 100% of the time. I like the smell and consistency of this on my hair. It should last a really long time bc u only need a little bit of it. The scalp serum is also light and not greasy as well.

I wanted to try the leave in which was going for $5 I think, but they ran out of it. People were buying up her products like crazy at the show. They were all basically like %50 off retail price.

OK I'm another one co-signing to how banging my hair looks and feels after using this. Yes, its expensive but so worth the splurge. I have fine but dense low shine/sheen type 4 hair and I used half a pea-sized amount ea for about 10 twists after my wash routine. My hair was surprisingly shiny last night, but I decided it might be because it was still damp. Well with 95% dry hair this morning my twists don't have sheen...these suckas SHINE! My hair feels so moisturized too.

Sooooo,I just picked up my new jar of Nourish and Shine from Whole Foods, and it has squalene in the ingredient list towards the end:ohwell:
Does anyone else's have this in it? Have you noticed a difference in how your hair responds to it,versus the original N&S?
I cannot stand ingredient changes in perfectly fine products, but if this is not causing any ill effects then i'll keep it.

I just used it as a daily moisturizer. I might try it on wet hair later on this week. Honestly my hair feel amazing. It hasnt felt this good in a while. Its very moisturizing, it doesnt weigh down my hair and it smells yummy:lick:BTW Her products are all natural.

Qualitee

I'm a little confused as to how this product can be used as a daily moisturizer. It's got butters, oils, and vitamins in it.

Doesn't a daily moisturizer need to contain water in order to actually moisturize?

I love it, I use it on dry hair though. On wet it's sticky and won't spread for me so I can't use it as a sealant. It contains frizzies super well, the grease-like consistency works really nice to keep hair clumped together.

They have this on clearance at my local HEB. After reading the reviews, I'mma have to buy 'em out. Thanks ladies!

Hey all, I posted this in the other Jane Carter thread, but here is the response from the Jane Carter representative regarding our concerns about reformulations:

Thank you for your response. I just saw the water on the Nourish & Shine ingredient list. That was a typo. I will have it changed immediately. There is no water in Nourish & Shine, it is made of Natural butters, essential oils and vitamins.

In regards to the Nutrient Replenishing Conditioner, we made a minor change from wheat protein to soy protein due to the concern about a increase in gluten allergies. This is a very minor change and will not impact the integrity of the product, whatsoever.

Jane, our only and sole formulator was a stylist for 25+ years and has formulated each and every product. Jane formulates the products strictly based on performance, and so that they truly work and improve the health of your hair.

Our products continue to be 98-100% natural and were strictly created based on performance. I assure you the integrity of our products have not changed.

Please let me know which message boards have posted about possible ingredient changes so that I may address the issue.

Thank you again for your comment and concern. Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns.

Definitely reach out to them directly if you have any further concerns, they were good with responding.

Thanks so much for that so1913

Maybe I should write back to them though...for example on the bottle of my Wrap & Roll it lists

DDeionized Water, Anthemis Noblis Flower (Camomile), Symphytum Officinal Leaf (Comfrey), Equisetum Arvense (Horsetail), Urtica Dioica (Nettle), Rosemarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf, Humulus Lupulus (Hops), Lawsonia Inermis (Henna), Certified Organic Essential Oils: Lemon, Grapefruit, Coco-Sultaine, Glycerine, Phenoxyethanol.
On their website it's
Water (Aqua), Cocamidopropyl Betaine, 11PEG-45 Palm Kernel Glycerides, Polyquaternium 11, Cocodimonium Hydroxyproply Silk Amino Acids (Hydrolyzed Soy Protein), Salvia Officinalis (Sage) Leaf Extract, Urtica Dioica (Nettle) Extract, Rosemarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Extract, Lawsonia Inermis (Henna) Extract, Fragrance, Phenoxyethanol.

I do understand what they wrote to me before (about the natural ingredients changing depending on the season) but those additions aren't particularly natural. IDGI. But I'm glad the N&S remains unchanged at least.
