Hello ladies, Just wanted to let you all know that Swang, Inc., a healthy hair care salon for afro-textured hairtypes, will be opening in White Plains, NY on or around December 1st, 2010. We've got about a month to set up so we are very busy, but I am really happy to be starting what I hope will be a unique, positive, fun and relaxing environment to grow some gorgeous 3 and 4 type hair!

More info as everything transpires.

Congrats!! Will you offer sew in weave services? I am transitioning to natural hair with a weave and am always looking for a great salon.

Right now, no weave service. Nothing against weaves, I know it is one protective style choice, but the emphasis is on black women relearning how to handle their own hair.
Please no one be offended by this, but if I start out offering weave, most won't pay attention to my methods and philosophy.

I would like to learn more about the care of the hair under the weave though....which products etc. I'll do a search.
 
White Plains huh? Definitely easy for me to get over there. Let me save my tolls up so I can come on over. :-)

Congrats lady!!! This is an awesome venture! Much success to you! Maybe more salons could open up or include natural haircare products or healthy hair practice consultations type of services. You'd be surprised how many aren't internet savvy and are looking for tips on how to obtain healthy hair.
 
Congrats! I would so hop on that damn Metro North and get my hair done! Very excited. Will you make a website for your salon? And what's the address?
 
Aw, I miss that area! My mom and I used to go there a lot when I lived in Port Chester. WOW. I wish there was a good shop in Long Island close to where I live.:ohwell: In Port Chester, there was a Dom. salon on every other corner. I had no problem with my hair, then.:nono:
