It\'s a JUNGLE IN THERE!

I don't know what to do! On the one hand, I'm thrilled that my hair is growing so fast, on the other hand I just can't control it

I have no breakage at the line of demarcation or anything and I can manage combing with a detangler and my new growth is soft because I keep it conditioned and moisturized.
My problem is I just don't know how to STYLE it. Nothing I do looks right. If I air dry curly it looks ok, but the roots are sooo poofy and I don't have a flat iron at the moment or the money to buy one and my rollersets are just not gonna come out smooth enough with this new growth and I just don't know what to do because I have another month and week before my next touch up (that will mark 3 months)

Please share some tips with me. How do you style when you have 1 1/2- 2 inches of new growth!

Braid outs. Also, buy yourself some straws and bobby pins (inexpensive items) and see what you can create.

I agree with Karonica. Those braid/twist outs help minimize the puffy look.

Re: It\'s a JUNGLE IN THERE!

My rollersets actually come out ok b/c the tension of hair in the rollers does straighten out the new growth somewhat. The longer you hair is, the easier it is to pull this off though. Give it a try!

Ditto on the braid/twist outs. Also, have you tried conditioner washing, and pulling hair back into a tight bun (with some type of moisturizing holding product - i.e. Let's Jam or Elasta Mango Butter - on the edges to smooth them down?

Congratulations with all of your new growth! Don't forget the ponytail rollerset method that helps straighten your new growth so it won't be so poofy.

I know what you mean and get ready for the "challenge" of getting used to a new length of hair

ponytail. When my hair gets extremely unmanageble I pull out my handy dandy drawstring ponytail.
