I'm suprised I have any hair there with the way I've been scratching. I know that's bad. I don't think it's that hormonal condition others spoke of because I haven't noticed any other bodily changes. What the heck? Can someone recommend an oil or cream or something?

I recommend massaging... Hair loss can be preceded by itching so I take itching as a sign that my follicles need some healing/nourishment/cleansing...so try to get blood up there to help fix things.

I think seeing a dermatologist might be a good move. Oils make some people itch, so applying stuff w/o really knowing what's going on could cause you more problems. If the itching is from conditioner residue, then applying stuff will just make things worse.

Did you see the threads on ACV rinsing? Maybe a dunk and good massage will do you some good.

ACV and tea tree oil....diluted with water. I have eczema of the scalp and thats what my herbsman suggested and it works

Tea tree oil should not be used if you have cuts and if you've been scratching you never know.

Thanks! I have been scratching so much a coworker noticed . It just started too. I wish I could get a mirror and see what's going on up there. I was actually thinking about revisiting MN or MTG but this time for the itch!

Sorry no recommendation on a cream but...when I was washing my hair in the shower my crown would itch. I think it was from allowing the hot water to hit that area constantly. I was also plopping the shampoo there. Every since I stopped washing my hair in the shower my crown has not been itchy.

I had a scalp breakdown last week and mixed this:

2 oz. 99% Aloe Vera Gel
1/2 tsp. Sulfur
2 tbsp. Non-alcohol Peppermint Flavoring
ETA: 5 Drops Rosemary Oil

Mix well and apply to your scalp. The mix is enough for 1 application and massage. Leave on for 30 min and shampoo out well.

I have a very itchy crown area. It's spreading too :-/. I'm getting a referral for a dermatologist tomorrow. I scratch it when I'm stressed too. The strands there are very thick and coarse, and they are resistant to relaxers. At the Dominican salon, they always have to apply more heat there cuz the hair just ignores the blow dryer. I will let you know what my dermatologist suggests. I'm considering MN as well. Did that work for you before? I don't need anything else to cause headaches, I get them enough

Worked like a charm. Within an hour, the pain and itching disappeared. I did use tea tree oil the day before. Maybe I should mention that.

Before LHCF, my hair would itch in the crown but I wasn't shampooing frequently. I cowash up to 2x weekly and shampoo at least 1x weekly. The itching self resolved once I started keeping my scalp cleaner and free from product buildup. HTH.
