Is what they do at Curve and that Jazma....

I've never been to those places. But from what I've read about Curve, they take simple hairstyles and procedures, give it some kind of cute name, and charge a lot of money. They have a texturizer process that they call a Silkner. I read that they leave it on your hair for less than 5 minutes and they charge you over a $100.

I believe that it is the same - a texturizer. But I think that Jazma's is a little different in that they wash your hair prior to applying the texturizer.

Thanks for the answers! So basically what they do at Curve is really just a texturizer.. do they do it any better than a regular shop would?? I was looking at their website last night.. those before and afters look so good.. it makes me want to fly there and have it done.. when I have the money to..I was thinking maybe next summer.. but I would be wasting my $ huh?

I thought the only official Curve salon was in NYC? I don't remember hearing that they had become a chain...

Get out??!! Are you serious???? Do you live in Chicago? If so, where? I live in Wicker Park.. right off of North Ave.

Nevermind..I looked under your avatar..lol I love Hyde Park.. my dh is starting an appraisal business and we look up stuff on the MLS all the time..Hyde Park has some beautiful houses!!!!!! and condo's.. and the prices there are amazing compared to further North..

So is that place like the original Curve salon where the owners are that Titi and Miko or whatever girls.. or someone else?

I got my hair done at Jazma's a few years ago and they didn't wash my hair prior to applying the texturizer, she just applied it.

Not sure about Curve. But I wrote the owner of Jazma and she explained the difference. Simply put, the Jazma relaxer is not petroleum based, like most lye and no-lye perms. Since they only relax the hair, to certain percentages, to retain some curl.If it's underprocessed they can re-apply the relaxer until desired effect. Since petroleum is heavy, it is harder to see how relaxed your hair with traditional relaxers. That's the jist of what she said.
