I used Elasta regular no lye last touch up but I want my hair to be a little straighter. I think I reverted to fast with the Elasta.

I think I tried once in my relaxed days and liked it. My mother (3b/c) uses it regularly with good results - I like the foaming protein conditioner that comes with it.

Hi Jasmin,

I use Vitale Regular strength (Lye) relaxer with great results. I've never used the no-lye, but the other one is terrific. If you'd ever consider switching to lye, it's good. Gets my hair really straight.

really, really, really??? /images/graemlins/crazy.gif dont toy with my emotions SG, does it really straighten well??i've been having bad luck with lye relaxers. how long do you leave it in? and where do you get it?and does it burn quickly?

Hi Bree /images/graemlins/wave.gif

When I got my first relaxer (over 10 years ago), that's what the stylist used, and I've been using it ever since. I must admit that I did have a temporary "moment of insanity" for a few years (shortly after I got my 1st relaxer) when I switched to no-lye, but it's been about 6 years that I've been using Vitale LYE consistently. It gets my hair REALLY straight! Sometimes I wish my hair had a bit more texture so I can wash-n-go and have a bit of curl and not be bone-straight.

I use Vitale's Regular Lye, along w/the Positive Conditioner and Neutralizing shampoo. I love it! I only leave it on for about 15 minutes. I never have a problem w/burns, unless I scratch my head beforehand.

Vitale Mo Body is a lye relaxer - a sensitive scalp lye relaxer, but still a sodium hydroxide relaxer nonetheless. I just looked at the box my mom left over here.
