is this true about garlic pills

I will assume that it does aide in hair growth because garlic contains sulfur and it improves circulation.
I use garlic powder in my hair concoction

Don't know about garlic growing your hair, but I know that it's really good for you. But, garlic comes out in your pores and may not be very pleasing to the nose. I use fresh garlic in almost everything I cook, but I do make sure that I shower well because it DOES come out of pores and we don't want to chase everyone away, now do we?

I HAVE noticed something about the supplements that I am taking. My eyelashes are getting longer and thicker. I have NEVER had long, thick eyelashes and I noticed that this morning...they're longer...and thicker!!!!

I don't take any garlic pills but I eat garlic everyday. So far, no complaints (my bf loves garlic too)from people that I can tell... I didn't know it's good for hair.

I know it's used in some hair care products but I don't know much about its effect on hair growth. What I DO know is that garlic is one of the best things since sliced bread. I take it not for hair but for all round health.

<ul type="square"> - Garlic lowers blood pressure (I actually have a friend who boils garlic bulbs and then cools and refrigerates the water for drinking. She says you cannot smell the garlic once the water is cool. After a month of that, her doctor put her off meds she'd taken for years. So now she's free of medication and her BP is normal.

)
- Garlic is a natural antibiotic. It was used to treat wounds and prevent gangrene during World War I
- Garlic is an antifungal agent. (Believe it or not, a few drops of Kyolic garlic liquid on a tampon worn during the day cures yeast infection

like Monistat but with all the goodness of natural remedies)
- Garlic is an immune system booster (I know when everyone around me has the flu, as long as I don't skip my daily dosage of Garlinase 4000*, I can smile in the face of the virus

) and it has been found to destroy viruses that cause fever, herpes, colds

etc
- Garlic helps your digestion and lowers cholesterol levels [/list] Just do an online search for garlic and you'll see what a wonder it is. And for those worried about the smell, I highly recommend Garlinase 4000 . It's very potent and has hardly any smell...compared to other brands, that is.

I don't know about hair growth, but I can attest to the health benefits. I try to cook with fresh garlic whenever I can. When I was a kid and had a cold, my mother would chop up fresh garlic and have me take it, as is (or with a spoonful of honey)to help clear up a cold. She also had a recipe of garlic, onions, and honey that she would let sit on really low heat till it made a syrup...cough syrup. I know that sounds nasty to a lot of people, but we were pretty broke, and I can say that that cleared up my colds like no OTC medicine ever could (which just suppress symptoms anyway).

This was soooo OT...I'm sorry

I have a granny's home remedy book and she says garlic oil and onion oil grow the hair. I have no idea where to buy this stuff but I definitely wouldn't want to go around with my hair smelling like garlic or onion.

As for putting it on your eyelashes, I definitely wouldn't recommend putting garlic near your eyes. You can use Vitamin E or Olive Oil to make your eyelashes grow.

[/ QUOTE ] This is exactly why I take a garlic pill everyday!!

If you put it on lashes, it supposedly makes the lashes grow. I don't use it because my eyes get all cloudy and I wear glasses.

You would need to put the oil on the eyelashes with a cotton swab at night right before bed. The issue with eyelashes is that they shed anyway after they get a certain length. Therefore, I would imagine you would have to use the oil indefinitely.

My step-mother uses garlic shampoo and swears that it helps speed up her hair growth. She also uses Cayenne Shampoo and conditioner as well.

Okay, I looked and it is Castor Oil that supposedly makes your eyelashes grow.
____
Eyebrows and eyelashes grow for 10 weeks and then rest for nine months. Thus, it would appear that, if you put the castor oil on the lashes in the growth phase, you extend their growth and you get to maintain it for the 9 month period. I guess the tricky part would be figuring out in the lashes are in the growth or resting phase.

lol thanx bett1e!! and ms jadu where can i find garlic shampoo? and is there an unscented garlic shampoo? and does ur step-mothers hair look healthy? longer?

her hair looks a whole lot thicker, and does grow more. They do have an unscented one by I think, Queen Helene. She says the cayenne one works better. If it is not Queene Helena, then it is by spanish garden hair products.

Yup. I bought unscented from Queen Helene. It has pathenol added. Its.....ok. I don't think I will buy another bottle but I will probably use this one over time. I only bought it because friends have one that is stinky but they love it. It was also on sale for 98cent.

Nutrine, Spanish Garden and Queen Helene make unscented garlic hair products.

The QH conditioner isn't unscented, but it doesn't smell that bad.

Nutrine Garlic (scented) has really made a difference with my hair since I started using it.
I need to pull out my Alter Ego Garlic Conditioner.

I just started taking my garlic pills again. Well, those and all my other supplements. I cain't say for sure if they've done anything yet since it's been a little less than a month. I'll try and remember to report back any results.
