I FOUND SOME CREME OF NATURE SHAMPOO, DRY HAIR FORMUAL IN THE OLD YELLLOW BOTTLE AT THE GROCERY STORE THEY ARE DISCOUNTING THEM (I SHOULD HAVE TWO MORE) BUT THEN AT WALMART I SAW THE <font color="red"> NEW BOTTLE </font> ITS WHITE BUT THE INGREIDENTS HAVE CHANGE TO INCLUDE..
ARE YOU READY FOR THIS....
<font color="orange">SODIUM HYDROXIDE!! </font> /images/graemlins/shocked.gif IS THIS SAFE ON PERMED HAIR??? GRANTED IT WAS WAY DOWN THE LIST BUT THAT 'S LYE.... ALSO THERE IS ANOTHER NEW INDGREIENT WHICH I CAN'T PRONOUCE AND WONDER WHAT IT IS..

I noticed that lye was in the Creme of Nature shampoo when I read my bottle. The lye is pretty far down on the list and I love the shampoo. I don't think it's enough lye in it to do much damage. The lye may be the reason it detangles so well. It is interesting.

Don't fret /images/graemlins/smile.gif. There actually isn't any Sodium Hydroxide in it. They just scared people for nothing really. Here is my response to the same concern. It should explain the situation.

Actually.....I hadn't noticed that but the link you provided makes perfect sense Ms. Chichi. I know that soap is made from lye becasue I always wanted to make soap but was too lazy too learn about the saponification process and all that.

Maybe the sodium hydroxide isn't an ACTIVE ingredient. For those who have used CON with sodium hydroxide, what bad things did it do to your hair?
