Is this overdoing it?

I'm planning on buying 5mg of Biotin supplements, the multivitamin I take now for my overall body needs has about 150mcg so that'll come to 5,150mcg per day, I notice that companies have certain amounts for a reason, and that's pass the limit you regularly see on shelves,. Also I want to get some Emu oil and use it on my hair because I hear it's a great growth aid. Now I co wash at least twice a week, shampoo and deep condition at the end of every week.

I'm still kinda niave about the hair regimen things and when is enough enough for your hair so I ask is this over doing it, I kinda have this silly thought that if I keep doing too much "growth procedure" my hair glands will get tired and decide to go on strike and I'll be stuck at one length for years lol that's why I've been avoiding growth aids, kinda So can anyone tell me if all of this is overdoing it?

Just be careful. The extra biotin that you take just gets flushed out of your body as waste. I would take less if I were you, because I wouldn't want to overtax my kindneys. Especially if you wanted to take that stuff everyday. And be careful for face breakouts. Those are killers especially with Biotin!

I think the cowashing and emu oil are great ideas (a lot of ladies on here do wayyyy more than that). But as far as the Biotin, pleeeease, take it from me: START SLOW. I would start with 1000 mcg a day and see how you do on that. Biotin in high doses can cause major skin breakouts. I'm currently on 1000 mcg and started to notice tiny bumps all over my face after about 4-5 days. I haven't taken it in like 3 days and my skin already looks better. I plan to continue (because my nails look great so I know my hair must have benefitted too), but from now on I'm only swallowing the Biotin with some vitamin c (To counteract the negative skin effects) or at least a multi.

Besides that, drinks TONS of water to prevent biotin breakouts (your body and hair need lots of water anyways)

Hope this helps! good luck :)
