Is this normal?

I have noticed since I got my hair relaxed that I have strands that are not as long as the others.
I notice breakage every now and then in my comb, but not too much. I had a lot of shedding after I was 8 weeks post and I am taking garlic pills for that.

I'm getting a bit concerned when I pull a section of my hair and I see short hairs. My hair doesn't feel thinner, but I want to be sure I'm not heading for a setback.

Should be concerned? or I am just paranoid?

Any thoughts?

It depends on what you mean by you are seeing short hairs. If it's just random short hairs then they could be hairs at different stages of growth which is normal. Every time a hair is shed, and new hair starts its journey way behind the others so it's never going to be the same length as those that started the journey yesterday or last week or last month or last year.

Now if you're seeing a group of hairs all in one place all shorter than the rest, that could be breakage and cause for concern. A photo speaks a thousand words and would help us understand what you're talking about. And if it's breakage, the cause could be so many things so you'd have to tell us more about your haircare procedures.

well I cant say if its normal, but when I was relaxed even when my hair LOOKED all one length, if a grabbed a section there wud b a few strands which were varying lengths

Id say maybe 90 - 95%% of my hair was basically the same length. I assumed this was from breakage and from different hairs being on diffrent cycles

i dunno.

Nvr bothered me

could also be that ur hair naturally falls into layers , so unless u constantly trim for a blunt cut, u'll always have some "shorter" hair
